Deschamps said he will announce it before the WC and kind of put pressure on him to do so + I don't believe for a second Barça won't prefer paying a bit extra to pay it in installments.

Taking out 100m right away is a significant investment.

Of course we'd prefer to reach a deal with Atletico instead of paying a clause but as I said before the problem is that Atletico doesn't want to negotiate right now or they can still refer to 200M as a startng point for any potential negotiations.

I think what Deschamps said is more what he wants to happen (and it's understandable from his standpoint he wants his key player to have a clear head before the WC) but there is no guarantee this will actually happen. AG wouldn't be the first nor the last player who wouldn't have his club future set before playing in World Cup. And I also think he has decided to leave so even if this won't be officially confirmed before July he can concentrate on his NT over the next month.

I see your point although he tonight in a post match interview confirmed he will reveal his future before the World Cup.

Griezmann-Messi-Dembele would be perfection. Griezmann can help Leo carry the goalscoring burden. i just hope EV has the balls to bench Suarez if his shit performances continue

Barcelona chief coy on Antoine Griezmann interest as striker set to decide future

Associated Press

2:20 PM BST

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has said several players will be going in and out at the La Liga champions this summer but would not confirm whether Antoine Griezmann would be one of them.

Atletico Madrid forward Griezmann said in March that he would announce his plans before the World Cup begins later this month and reiterated that stance after France's friendly win over Italy on Friday.

"Some players will come. Others will leave. That's normal," Bartomeu said. "But no doubt, without saying names -- I cannot say names -- because probably a lot of them are under negotiation by the people of the club. Of course, so many players will appear."

Bartomeu told The Associated Press that Barca are as focused on promoting from their B team as they are on looking elsewhere.

Barcelona won the Copa del Rey and their 25th La Liga title last season but were eliminated by Roma in the Champions League quarterfinals in their first season since Neymar's transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.

In four seasons in Spain, Neymar scored 105 goals as Barcelona won the Champions League, the Club World Cup, two La Liga titles and three Copa del Rey trophies.

Asked whether Barcelona still needed a more permanent replacement for Neymar, Bartomeu said: "[Philippe] Coutinho, [Ousmane] Dembele are for us a big investment," he said. "They are very important players and we expect a lot from them.

"Coutinho probably in the last four months has been very active for the team. But Dembele is a very young player, a very talented player that we are, of course, expecting a lot from.

"He's been demonstrating during the season that he's a good young player for us. But, of course, next season will be different. It's not easy to play in Barcelona the first year because the model of football is quite different from the rest.

"But after one year I'm sure we are going to see Dembele and Coutinho at a very high level."

Bartomeu said he wished success for all Barca players competing in the World Cup, but would have a special interest in seeing Argentina's Lionel Messi do well.

"I would like him to win, of course -- this World Cup. He's the best player of the history of football," Bartomeu said.

"So he would have won all titles, all records. So adding a World Cup to his hundreds of titles would be good for him, but also good for Barca. I think it would be beneficial also for the club to have one of our players win again."

most likely Barto has the deal and agreements in place, now its up to Griezmann to decide; stay loyal to Atleti or come play with the GOAT

Sport says the Board is losing patience with the Griezmann transfer and issued an ultimatum to him to confirm if he's coming.

I think considering he's now confirmed he'll let his decision be known before July 1, it's a strong possibility that he stays with them. I think he'd stay quiet otherwise, until the 100M clause became active. And i actually wouldn't be that bummed about it, but only IF it means we go after Eriksen and Thiago (with 100M for Griezmann saved we can easily go for both) to sort our midfield for once and give Busquets and Messi a proper chance to lift a few CL trophies before they retire, cause at this point it's becoming tragic, especially in Messi's case. Also, La Liga would stay stronger for it as a league overall, if Atletico don't lose their star man to a league rival, tired of seeing Bayern do that every year in Bundesliga.

Then just play the fantastic Coutinho up front, where he's just (that more) lethal with his dribbling and long distance shooting ability, playing closer to goal, a perfect fit. And Suarez might find his form back again too with a world class midfield behind him finally, and he hopefully wouldn't have a guaranteed first team spot for once, if Coutinho joins the attack, so that should help him too.
