Yeah its a big sum for vast majority of clubs.

I just cant see them spending that on one player if they werent selling someone for 90m

and the new rumoured contract for Griezmann. I don't know. Where they could get the money for all this? I know they made ok bank from Europe League but that's not going to cover all this.

Maybe the reason Griezmann hasn't announced he is leaving yet is to help them so that they can sign the players they want without overpaying.

65 million is a big transfer for any club. Atletico it's massive.

Lamar is the second biggest transfer after Diago Costa at 66 million. It's huge.

Depends on your relative scale. They routinely spend in the range of 80M for 2-3 players. They've wasted money on Jackson Martinez and Vietto types before, which all add up. It's absolutely within their means. They reached 2 CL Finals, winning Europa League and have the Chinese money. No big deal and they'll probably make one or 2 more signings to compliment that.

^ good point actually about the CL final money + Europa league win. I still think hes coming though, if both teams are briefed already we would surely be chasing another target.. already been here with Verratti, our board aren't that stupid.. are they?

If Griezmann demanded more supporting cast, don't think he will be so naive to think simply adding Lemar will be enough to challenge Barca and RM.

Not to mention Griezmann 23m pay raise, Lemar's salary, 65m+ transfer fee and FFP.

They reached 2 UCL finals and won La Liga title and 2 Europa League titles in the past 5 years. I would say ATM chance is higher to reach another UCL final than us under Valverde,

But in fairness to Atletico, even though Jackson Martinez flopped, they still got profit for selling him to a Chinese club. Technically, no money wasted at all since he was sold for a higher price.

We know nothing just can wait for his announcement because journalists only want to sell big titles and don't care about truth
