He'll probably be a penalty and maybe a FK taker (I'd guess together with Pjanic) so can surely get to 25-30 goals in all competitions. Fati, Trincao and Dembele all have potential to add around 15-20 but a lot of things will need to go in their favour for one or more of them to reach that target. Especially Dembele given his injury history.
Coutinho, Pjanic and Donny (if we'll get him) can also add some goals from midfield. We can't expect much in that department from our defenders but I do believe we should get more out of Lenglet and Pique at set pieces and hopefully Koeman can do that.
If both Messi and Suarez are gone we need not one but two more forwards imo. One striker and another more versatile one who can also play on the wings. I just hope we'll stay far away from Lautaro but I wouldn't mind Depay for that versatile role if we can get him for around 30m. He'd also add a bit of experience to the youngsters Fati and Trincao while not really being too old.
Or just make a double swoop for Memphis and Moussa Dembele. They already have a good understanding so they could at least play off each other until they gel with the rest of the team. We could get both of them cheaper than Lautaro alone and I'd say chances for at least one of them being somewhat useful are higher than Lautaro not turning into another 100m disappointment. And if they flop it would be easier to recuperate most money invested in them in a few years than getting back whatever we'll pay for Lautaro.
Anyway, whoever we'll bring I expect us to struggle while we're trying to find a new offensive identity but I still think we should see much more mobility upfront. Regardless of who will play it will be hard to be more static that we've been for years with physically declining Messi and Suarez. Griezmann might not be the fastest player in the world but for me he has shown his best performances here (granted a very small sample) at the start of the season alongside the likes of Fati, C. Perez and Rafinha (when both Messi and Suarez were injured) and he was surrounded by the players who can also move around. Now Fati will be a year older/more experienced while the other two should be replaced with better players.
Make no mistake though. Replacing Messi and even this current version of Suarez won't be easy and there are a lot of question marks. Will new players have enough quality to stay around longterm and be a part of a future team, will they even fit into the team and how much time they'll need to adapt, who will take a responsibility in important moments,... We don't know and that's why we'll surely struggle in this transition period until we'll find answers on these and many other questions.
And that's why I believe it's even more important to try and establish a defensive stability in the team first. Defending is not just a responsibility of the back 4 but of the whole team. It's been ages since we've last defended as a team. If we'll replace Messi, Suarez and Busi with players with younger/fresher legs and a better workrate we should already be much improved even if there won't be any personell changes in the backline. I still expect at least three of the starters there to remain but they should all get a better competition (and hopefully some longterm replacements) to deserve their playing time.
