Doesnt have to be 40m on a defender but contribute towards it.

Semedo is shite but plenty good players signed for similar money and more.

The defence is far and away Barcas weak point. Both in defenders and DM when Busquets plays there.

Yeah true, you can make good deals for fourty million. Slight joke too! But yes, fourty ain't that much in today's market and we can't even seem to hit those 100+ mil transfers. Haha

No.

Hope for a great Euro performance so we can sell him and sign a great CB.

We already have 5 CBs (Umtiti excluded although it's quite possible he'll stay in the end as well), I doubt we'll sign another one.

I'd prefer to cash on Dembele (with his contract expiring) and keep Griezmann around for another season then sell him next year if we can get Haaland.

We need 4.

Araujo, Garcia, Mingueza + Transfer. Pique is more of a tennis ambassador, and Umtiti is irrelevant.

And the transfer should be better than all of the other 3.

Which we don't lol

Too soon to tell. These guys are yet to have a go at trying to fix the team.

It is not just 40m limit though if that 40m and the wages freed up allows them to spend more than that. Or even if there is more available already.

Lenglet. They seem to count on him. (Mistake)

Wasn't Laporta saying for 100% salary going out we can take 25% back? So 800k we could have player for 200k. Pretty big salary yes.

Don't disagree but in this case we could finance a new CB by selling Lenglet.

But first we should find that CB and be sure he'd fit right into the starting XI and actually improve it. And I have no idea who this could be.

Unfortunately, I really think we have a bad habit of selling based on bad performances, so every time we sell someone it's because they are proven problematic players. Not once do our bosses see red flags before the whole world sees them.

It's hard to offload the players we want to. The only desirable player is probably Griezmann.

When we sell players based on okay performances we usually get good money. Like Sanchez for example. Wasn't that great for us, but in the season we sold him, he scores some sick world-class goals. No surprise some team paid top money for him. He had many things going for him.

Malcom, Semedo and even though deal for books Arthur were all sold before many realised how poor/average they were.

Same with Bravo, Cillesen sold stock relatively high. Mina sold for 30m etc.

It is catch 22 as wont ever really want to sell players that have done well in normal circumstances. So not many sold when seen to be a success.

A Vocal CB/leader type team is crying out for.

Don't know. Lenglet is coming of a poor season but still think in a different (more defensive) system he could do very well. Think he'd do well in Serie A but problem is Italian teams don't have much money. And as said before I think he could even recuperate some of his form here if paired with a better leader and more athletic CB.

And clearly any team potentially interested in Griezmann would consider him not performing up to his expected level here due to him being a misfit. He's shown his class over his career and still has 3-4 good years ahead of him imo.

I see Lenglet as a Pique-type, with his heads in the clouds, but also with a massive advantage over him which is basically age. Pique has no incentive of recovering, he's had his days and now is just a buffoon. Lenglet could still have motivation left. Umtiti is another case, he is purely finished from an athletic point of view. And between Lenglet and Pique, due to the horror of seeing Koeman start both in the first 11, Pique should be sacrificed. For the good of the team. Also, Pique is no leader. He's just masquerading as one in social media and talk shows.

As it stands, I'd play Lenglet and Araujo. With Mingueza pretty close to Araujo. Garcia is an unknown factor for me.
