Isco was gem but this guy is more offensive. I still don't think he has it beside his great touches. But his style fits Real Madrid

I’m not sure what the controversy continues to be. Barça failed to land player so he’s subject to criticism?

Yes he’s arrogant and over hyped but he’s a quality talent who has played well at the Euros

He’s going to be a top player. Especially when he gets a bit stronger too.

The club tried hard to sign him, ultimately he wanted to go somewhere else. These things happen.

Any player that turns BARCELONA down deserves to be punched in the face.

Waste of talent in Madrid. If he's not a glory hunter who just wants CL trophies to his name, he'll go somewhere else and play full games.

When does he even get in the starting 11 with this current Madrid squad? In 15 years maybe? All of them are young guys. Camavinga, Tchouameni, Fede, Bellingham... is he supposed to be a backup his whole career while being a bigger talent than them all combined?

He made the choice and has to endure the fact he's Copa Del Rey minutes this season. 3rd option at his position and 7th overall in Real midfield. He's talented, but even at Barca he'd have had the Pjanic periods. Talent is there, but coming directly from Turkish Super Lig to one of the biggest clubs is a big jump. No preparation, like skipping few grades. There are stepping stone clubs like Red Bull Leipzig that prepare players of Arda's level for the next stage. He skipped that.

Or suppose Florentino wanted to sell shirts in Turkey or screw Barca's plans.

I don't think he's not ready. Everytime he comes on he performs at a sufficient level, often beyond that too. He has the creativity everybody in Madrid is speaking so much about right now. He is overrated by Madrid fans but still a very talented player who should be getting much more minutes. If not at Madrid then some other top club.

1 year on the bench won't destroy him. I'm sure he's learning plenty at Madrid trainings. Of course will need the opportunity to start regularly like Odegaard did. Whether at Madrid or away. Don't think he will be opposed to leaving if they can't promise a bigger role.

His mistake was going to a team that is being coached by Carlo who's a bit of a dinosaur in terms of introducing players who aren't established at this point.

Carlo always relied on established young or older Veteran players who can be ready on the dot without much fuss and ready to contribute. Guys like Arda, Endrick etc are not those players.

He rates them but I don't think he views their development his "problem" so to speak.

100%. If Ancelotti stays at Madrid, Guler will end up getting loaned next season.

Ancelotti helped Rodrygo and Vini a lot, the former were only getting around 1k minutes in Liga before him. Arda is on the track to get more minutes than that this season.

Same for Camavinga too.

Established young is a bit of a flexible term here, I mean any coach who is trying to win won't gift minutes to several players if they are negative impact on the pitch. Cama, Vini, Rodrygo earned their minutes, Arda is earning more minutes gradually too.

But honestly, RM is a bit top heavy now it will be hard to get minutes anyway, regardless of the coach.

On paper they only have Mbappe, Vini and Rodrygo as their attackers, then Arda (RW) and Endrick. But you add Diaz and Bellingham to the mix, and those are 5 great players for 3 starting positions.

With that said, even if it doesn't work for him, RM loans are usually good, ge could very well get the Odegaard way.
