Wouldn't even of hesitated for a second to sell him for 50m. That's a massive profit.

It doesn't surprise me either. The Chinese have made freakin Pelle one of the best paid players in the world today.

Here's an article (few months old) about Pelle's salary at China, just to add some more info.

After Graziano Pellè’s move from Southampton to Shandong Luneng was completed this week, he will be, depending on whom one believes, anything from the third to the 10th best-paid player in the world. Reports indicate he will earn £34m over the course of two and a half years, breaking down to something like £260,000 a week.

Arda and his agent consistently stated he is not leaving barcelona throughout the summer - sometimes as much as 3 times a week. Barcelona insiders know Arda refused to move. Barcelona put a brave face on it and said he was part of the plans etc - but in reality they worked hard this summer to get rid of him.

Doubt it. Believe it or not, we don't get rid of players after 6 months of playing some minutes here and there, and after they weren't allowed to play for half a season because of our own screw-up. This thing about us wanting to get rid of Arda Turan is a fabrication. Sure, if the offer is great, anything can happen, but accepting a bid for one of your players is not the same thing with wanting to get rid of that player.

Barçapocalypse NOW!
Also, Lucho was always fond of him and believed he would come through... You could argue that was a risky bet, but it was one Lucho was willing to take...

I don't think it was that risky tbh. He was a top rated midfielder when we signed him, so it's not really a big surprise that he is playing very well now. 6 months of poor form is nothing, especially since he was banned from playing for us for half a season before that.
