Arda Turan

I had some hopes when he was signed 2 years ago. Seeing his love for the club, the admiration he had for Messi and Iniesta, all those little details made me optimistic, but he never pushed hard on the pitch. I still haven't forgetten his disastrous performance last season against Atletico Madrid at the 1/4 finals of the Champions League. He was like doing a favor to his former teammates.

I don't care if it was Lucho's request or contract clause in Beko/Turkish Airlines sponsorship. Shame on this club if it's the latter. The facts are he's been played mostly as a left winger this season after his ineffective performance as central midfielder last season. It's obvious he possess some impressive technique but he is way too slow for the position and I don't remember seeing him dribble past an opponent in La Liga at all. This is, I believe, one of the requirements to be a replacement for Neymar. Looks like it will be a huge surprise to see him at Barca squad next season.

No I'd be willing to bet he stays next season and probably the season after. Not because he's good or anything.

New coach might change his attitude. He is too comfortable. He likes his life in Barcelona little bit too much. If we could sell him to China for big money, that would be huge help for the team.

Yeah, I think he's past his time here. He should definitely leave this summer, especially if Deulofeu is coming back.

As you said Turan's time at the club is over and I completely agree.

Why would Barca be bringing back Deulofeu? He was sold to Everton for 4 million euros in 2015 at Lucho's request and this season Ronald Koeman (who is one of the contenders to manage Barcelona next season) used Gerard as substitute in 11 out of 12 games, after which he was loaned out to AC Milan.

Because in his current form he is way better backup option for the wing than Arda, Denis or even Rafinha. He is fast, has good technique and can actually change the rhythm of the game, and he would cost us ONLY 12m. So the worst thing it can happen is that we resell him next season.

We need to invest heavily in CM and RB and we also need one young CB for the next season so Deulofeu would be a good bang for the buck. It would also mean one less thing to worry about in the summer transfer window.

Turan is a guy who came to Barca not to fight for titles but with the expectation to be carried to them.

He should be the first one out door when the transfer windows opens.

It's so hard to decide who should be "First" out. Mathieu, Denis, Gomes, and Arda are all pretty strong competition for that spot. This is a large part of why our season has been so awful.

Denis and Gomes could maybe function in some other team and they are quite young but Mathieu and Arda are done and over. It will be so hard to sell them especially with their current wage. I am afraid only Turkish or Chinese teams could maybe buy Arda.

My issue is, that unlike those other guys, I feel Arda would prefer to turn down good opportunities elsewhere (i.e. making bank in China) to get fat and rot on the bench at Barca.

There is always a way to handle a player who doesn't want to train hard but manager must have balls for that. Can you imagine what would happen to him under Simeone if he had this attitude.

I can imagine Simeone probably would have sold him to the first idiot that came calling. Simeone is smart so he likely would convince the idiot into paying a high price for him like like 35 million euros or something.
