I guess the best solution right now would be to loan him out and split his salary payments between clubs.

He isnt a 'cancer' and about the worst way to lose more money would be buying him out.

Don't need a player with an attitude like his still being a part of this team.

The best option would be to transfer him and sucker another club into footing his wage bill or at least part of it, but nothing has materialized so far. If we cannot sell him, it would be better to buy him out than simply have him for the sake of having him.

There is a lot of guessing about his attitude as if he walks about training not giving a fuck which I doubt is the case. Most players actually seem to like him.

It wouldnt be better to buy him out even paying 90% of his wages for loan to end of contract would be better and that would be shit.

Wouldnt be suprised if there is a bit of a game going on and he would love to get paid off.

You're welcome
This is starting to remind me of the time Douglas planted himself in the office seat refusing to leave the club.

Honestly, does tell you something about the pleasantness of the club.

Buying out his contract or just having him stick around to collect his wages amounts to the same thing...

Yes, true. However, buying out his contract means paying the rest of his contract in one go, with taxes and all. 15-20 million in one go is hard even for us. Especially at this time, having spent a boat load on Messi's extension and Dembele/Coutinho. It's easier to pay that sum over several years. In the case we can loan him somewhere we can even reduce the costs of his salary. It just doesn't make financial sense to pay him to bugger off.

I concur. I was merely implying the cost to company remains the same.

I hate this type of player to be honest. It shows a lack of ambition in that he would rather collect a pay cheque than further his football career.

Yeah, it's low. Still, there are 2 parts in this mess. We are as guilty as him. Shouldn't have bought him in the first place. Arda has always been a diva, thinking that he's god's gift to mankind from way back in Turkey. He buckled up for a few years under Simeone as his career was slowly going to the shitter, and when Barca came calling and bought him, he gave up and went back to his mentality from Turkey. Maybe it's hindsight but the club should've done some research on him. Hell, he even had some behavior issues against us(the shoe throwing incident) and numerous other crap he pulled like slimy fouls etc.

Arda Turan’s transfer out of Barça is imminent. He and his agents met with the president of Basaksehir, who also met with Barça representatives. Only a formal agreement between the two clubs is yet to be reached'
