Oh the irony when corrupt organization like FIFA who basically live off clubs like Barca and players like Messi goes on and give you lectures.

WTF is going on these days?

He should have been registered as soon as Fifa confirmed the ban expired on September 1, instead the idiots running the club ask for permission to use the rules of there national association and have been used before.

Fifa don't get involved when other countries with different rules use them so why the hell should this be any different?

Good question. They are like a dog with a bone and dare I say it, it's almost become personal

I'm going to get eaten alive for this, but here goes... If we ignore for a moment the fairness of the ban itself and act as if it should be accepted without reservation, then we shouldn't be allowed to register Arda. Yes, the ban ended on September 1st, but Arda was bought and transferred from Atletico in the summer. Buying him then and registering him now due to injury would just be a tricky way to circumvent the system. If Arda wasn't bought then, and we had the same injury crisis now, we wouldn't be able to buy and register him outside of a transfer window. As I said, if we ignore whether the ban itself is fair, and only look at the current situation, then it isn't fair for us to be able to register Arda. What would be fair is for us to buy and register any player that is available right now, which is exactly how it would be if we didn't have the ban in the first place. But of course, if you take the ban itself into consideration, then it's a different story.

FIFA's ban was against registering players, not buying any.

Anyway, DannyCrane explained the technicalities so I don't expect to see Arda before the 4th of January.

Presuming that FIFA are not willing to listen to Barça's reasoning, the Catalan club's legal team are already preparing their case which they will take the CAS as soon as possible.

Before the CAS, Barcelona will not just take the 'Arda Turan Case', but they will also try to defend the rights of the young players who have been banned from training at La Masia with their teammates or living at the complex. The parents of the children affected are also wanting to take the case to the CAS.

[marca]

Presuming that this Marca report is correct, at this stage, I'm wondering who this club's legal team is - since I admire their skills in baiting one of the biggest clubs in the world into completely forlorn, and therefore useless lawsuits, all the while not recognizing that this will do even more damage to the club's relationship with FIFA in the long run.

The RSTP, or the FIFA disciplinary code while we're at it, aren't some impenetrable, hallucinogenic Jefferson Airplane lyrics. What part of "can't modify" is so difficult to understand ?

And don't even get me started on the "defend the rights of the young players" populist gargabe. Since the club's "legal team" is most likely paid on a per hour basis, expect the "legal team" to produce nothing but a 200 page essay disguised as a statement of claim, whose content will in essence amount to little more than "Yeah, our youth player policy was not in compliance with explicit FIFA regulations, but you see, the kids are happy around here and we're Barca and we deal in youth excellence, mes que un club" and more irrelevant drivel, all the while charging a small fortune.

But fortunately for the legal team, Barca is not hesitant on lining the pockets of any random white shoe law firm and putting their economic interests above the club's 'political' interests in dealing with FIFA in the future. Because for the foreseeable future, FIFA is not going to magically disappear.

If anything, the legal team should devote their entire attention to keep the club in compliance with FIFA regulations now and in the future. If you don't like the FIFA regulations, build a lobby and work on the abolishment of these regulations beforehand. Whining about the FIFA and their alleged unfairness isn't going to get the club anywhere.

I just had to get this out of my system.

Freixa says that he doesn't understand why Barca is not registering Arda because Fifa has not jurisdiction in this matter:"I don't think it is anything for FIFA to complaing about, because they don't have any jurisdiction in this case. It is as simple as starting proceedings with the LFP [to register Turan] and getting a medical tribunal to rule if Rafinha's injury is 'long-term' or not," Freixa said."

Do you really want ANOTHER transfer ban? In our current situation? If we really attempted to register him despite FIFA saying we can't, they could penalize us again. Yes, it is possible that after appeal to CAS or other institution such punishment would be overturned, but do we really want to risk it? It was not stupid to ask for permission at all.
