Argentina

Would never be sacked before after the WC even if true. Doubt it, tho.

I heard these rumors about two days ago. I would not put too much credence to it. I only saw the report on an internet news source I never heard of before. Another breaking story in the same news outlet was that they "link the President of Argentina and the Mayor of Buenos Aires to an Anti-Catholic sect." Right! Two high ranking politicians in need of popular votes will willingly associate themselves to an anti-catholic sect, in Argentina, where 90% of the population is catholic. They would, if they want to commit political suicide, if found out. Evendintly, they were found out, according to this source.

The rumors are that Sampaoli sexually accosted the cook - not sexually abused her - by asking the cook to perform a sexual act of some sort. I very seriously doubt it. The report did not say what only that it was an indecent proposal. That could mean anything like "can you clean my shoes?" It is indecent because when she bends down to clean his shoes, Sampaoli could contemplate her rear end.

_______________Armani
..............Otamendi.........Fazio
Mercado...................................Taglia (Acuna)
_____________Masch (Biglia)
Salvio-------------------------------Pavon
______________Dybala
.............Messi-----------Aguero

This line-up could go all the way, with Leo getting the Golden Boot and hoisting up the Golden Trophy at the end.

Adding Di Maria and Higuain into their data stream screwed up Goldman's predictive algorythms

Chihuahua Samp best keep his clarinet out the kitchens, Dim & Hig out the pitch and start using Dyb, or this might turn into the biggest fuck up ever for Argentina.

edit: throw-in Icardi as a super-striker starter option/sub for Aguero. Dude's got tip-top shot accuracy, positioning and reaction speed. With the quality service he'd get with the guys behind him and Leo as his wing-man, plenty of goals in the making...

Then, he can go home to miss Boom Boom and collect his reward.

No Rojo at CB please.

They have enough firepower upfront to cause any team problems.

It's the defense that worries me.

As the adage says: "The more things change, the more they remain the same." According to Ole, Clarin, and La Nacion from Argentina the following is going to be the staring 11 against Iceland: Wilfredo Caballero; Eduardo Salvio, Nicolás Otamendi, Marcos Rojo, Nicolás Tagliafico; Maximiliano Meza, Javier Mascherano, Lucas Biglia, Angel Di María; Lionel Messi and Sergio Agüero. This looks a lot like the 2014 team. I have no idea how Argentina will do. They are all 4 years older. What about the generational change? For 2022!
