Was Higuain playing? Terrible to have most forwards off form when it matters the most. And they lost Rojo for the next game.

Sabella's affection towards Higs post-Italy friendly last June, has become the kiss of death for him. Hasn't scored in a year now.

Rojo, on the other hand, is proving his critics wrong. Basanta is a capable replacement, though can't offer the tenacity and exuberance of the young Rojo. But should suffice against their QF opponent.

I would drop Higuain and play Lavezzi through middle, he is poor but moves.

Alvarez on the RW, Di Maria on left and Messi in AM.

Drop Gago for Biglia or Perez and drop Fernandez for Dimechelis.

Team needs a shake up and needs fresh legs with next game soon.

If Demi starts/plays, I guarantee ARG will crash out (and yeh enter this post in TK's thread)

Alvarez is a ball hog, and the most uncreative player I've seen don the sky blue in recent years. No to him, as well.

Demichelis is a better player than Fernandez and Alvarez is a better RW than anyone other than Messi or Di Maria.

Argentina will have a very, very hard time against either Belgium or the USA.

When will the rest of them step up? Never?

Demi may be a better player, but has tendency to go retard in the most crucial moments in K.O comps. If the current players struggled to create, it will be much worse with Alvarez. If you're looking to drop Higs, you play Palacio through the middle, with Lavezzi and Di Maria on the flanks. You can't just start experimenting at this stage of the campaign.

Lavezzi was horrible today out wide and is not natural there.

Its not about experimenting, you are suggesting they keep the same team that were terrible today and will be tired on top of that. I dont think that is way to go.

If you're looking to change, you bring in upgrades. And Alvarez is not an upgrade to Lavezzi(both sides of the pitch) who despite his flaws is more accustomed to playing with the big boys. Though I wouldn't be averse to start Perez over Gago.

If Lavezzi isn't natural out wide, whats his primary profile then?
