Messi scored a winner for his team when it mattered against Iran... what did Robben do against Costa Rica over 120 minutes?
He created a lot of chances and he dragged defenders away. And he converted his penalty, of course. But fair enough: he didn't score. But if we're only talking about single matches, we could go on for a bit. Messi didn't score against Belgium, and so on; Robben didn't score against Mexico, and so on. For me, Robben has been a better player in this WC: more of a constant threat, less drifting out of games. Messi has been equally crucial for Argentina as Robben has been for us, so it's kind of a pointless discussion anyway.
