You do realise most people wanted him to leave because he wasn't signing any players, even though they had all the money and the time in the world to do so this season. He then did make some great signings so I guess there's no problem anymore.
Personally I never wanted him to leave. Too good a manager, too much of a legend to leave. The team was always very good in the first place, all it needed was some squad players and one "top quality" signing to be title contenders. And he delivered.
Boring discussion anyway.

Too bad they don't give trophies for good starts. We've started phenomenally, and are doing all the right things that title winning clubs do (i.e. win your winnable games, get through an injury crisis, etc.), but the big test will be when we face United/City/Chelsea away. If we can beat those big clubs and continue building momentum, we'll be hard to stop.
And anyone who saw how badly we collapsed in 07, after being top of the table until the last 2 months of the season, will know that anything can happen.

I agree. Remembering Liverpool's run for the league title in 2008, meaningless losses against the likes of Middlesbrough ended up being their undoing, as they lost the title by a hair at the very end.
Still, if we end up with a demoralising loss to one of the big clubs, how we pick ourselves up will also come into play. It's all up for grabs at this point, and I'm honestly glad we're being talked of among the title challengers for once. Being brushed off as "fighting for 4th" was a slap in the face, even though it was true
