Yes, it's called form...Arensal are in poor form against the top sides, currently...Comparatively, the others are in better form than Arsenal when it comes to play against the top sides...Don't sulk because your team is dropping like a rock
Well, you say poor form currently and you base that on what, one game or how many? I still think that being unbeaten against the big teams at home is a decent record. Their away form is actually quite good in general. They just picked the wrong games to be "naive" in. I doubt he's going to make the same mistakes again. My optimism comes from the mature performances away from home I've seen against the likes of Dortmund.
I'm not sulking by the way. They're not dropping like a rock either.
Outpressed and outpassed, don't frame the narrative to suit your agenda...Wenger was exposed tactically time after time and Mou, despite his parked bus, realized all he needed was a draw - you lot needed to win, you didn't...When you head to the Wayne Bridge, that will be reminded to you
Yes, outpressed and outpassed. Everton still struggled to create any good chances. Arsenal looked a lot more dangerous in the final third...
Exposed tactically? Not really. How exactly was he exposed tactically?
If you want to put it that way, then both Chelsea and Arsenal needed a win. A draw was in the end good for both of them. Reminded at the bridge? Well, that is if you truly believe that the league will be decided in the big games. I personally don't.
Battered is battered and at the end of the day, the reality is that you have to get the points off the others in the top 5 otherwise Arsenal are merely pretenders
Battered is battered because they conceded six goals? I repeat for the third time, Arsenal scored five legit goals. It's not their fault the referee thought otherwise. The penalty, which they should have had would most likely result in a goal as well. Meaning, they wouldn't have had to gamble and throw so many bodies forward and risk getting exposed. But overall, the result was not in any way a true reflection of what the game looked like. City got battered just as much.
They already got points of the other teams in the top 5. Perhaps not as much as you'd like but enough to be only one point behind Chelsea. Liverpool had mediocre results in the big games before the game against Everton. Now they suddenly don't look so bad. It's like magic isn't it?
Arsenal are indeed so far the worst of the bunch in this category but does it really mean that much? Maybe some consistent performances against the teams outside the top and a few good results against the likes of United, Everton and Spurs are enough.
Liverpool have improved their results in the big games. Arsenal can do the same.
"It was a very poor day. We were poor defensively, offensively," Wenger told BT Sport. "Only our fans were good for 90 minutes. All the rest, we were poor. Liverpool played very well, so congratulations to them. But it was a poor performance on a day when we couldn't afford it.
"Of course it raises some questions today because we were caught many times and were naive. Defensively we need to be more stable. Today we were too open. From the front to the back we were not at the level we are used to."
This is why I'm still positive. I'm confident he won't try a similar approach in a big game. Two defensive disasters are enough.
