Well that'd suck, but at the end of the day the club didn't want him back(and I'm not saying that it was the wrong decision) so he's come here. Betrayals like this happen, like when Sol Campbell joined your lot. They make things interesting. I look forward to our next match. :p

Sol's betrayal of Spurs was much bigger (personally I don't think Cesc's is a betrayal since he wanted to come back), the rivalry with Spurs is bigger than with Chelsea. Plus Sol didn't want to stay at Tottenham and could have gone to any club in the world and he joined us completely out of the blue. If social media was around then...lol forget about it.

But I guess to the generation of fans like my nephew who've grown up watching Arsenal at the Emirates, Cesc was a hero..To me he was a tier below the real legends because he was always going to leave. RvP and Cole leaving cut deeper because they left directly and we needed them.

Sagna agent obviously thinking it's the perfect time 'to bury bad news'. Can't hate on Sagna, was great for us and went out with a trophy. A pain in the ass to get a replacement however.

Gee how time flies. I didn't even realise he'd been at Arsenal that long until somebody had posted it. I remember you guys signing him like it was not all that long ago.

I know what you mean, seems like we got him 4 years back lol

Farewell Sagna, would have loved for him to stay, but no way for 150k a week. Look for some new blood I guess.

So Sagna leaves for City, money, but is hailed as a legend, But Cesc who wanted to return to Arsenal, but got rejected and then signed for Chelsea is called a traitor...

Not talking about you DB10 as I read your view on Cesc's transfer, but thats the general opinion from what I've seen and heard today.

Not necessarily my opinion but this is the short version of what some might think; (I personally think that Cesc leaving was understandable and that he had already given the club so much)

You could argue that Cesc left the club when he was desperately still needed. It was a promising team and everything was built around him and it was only a matter of time before they would start to win things again. Still, he left and the consequences of him leaving of course meant that other key players would want to leave as well so a massive rebuilding job was required. It's taken the club two (arguably even 3) transitional seasons to catch up.

Sagna, despite always seeing key players leaving stayed. He showed loyalty and professionalism. Unlike the others, he at least won a trophy with the club and left AFTER he had past his peak.

He's basically retiring now and only joined City so he can get his last big contract.

He's obviously joining City for the chance at winning a couple more trophies too....

But yeah, Do you stay with Arsenal for 2 years on 75k a week, or go to City for 3 years on 150k.

Easy decision

Barca kicked him out, his wife only wants to live in London, his sister lives in London, and he really wanted to go back to Arsenal. Arsenal don't want to fuck over Ozil and Ramsey, so they say no. His only option is Chelsea.

I can't be mad at Arsenal for making the sensible (but hard) decision, and I can't hate Cesc for taking his only option. But man, this situation fucking sucks. (unless you're a chelsea fan)
or a Barca fan

Sol was 100 times worse, to be fair. Spurs captain leaving on a free

Either way, I can't be mad at Cesc for taking his only option. Hope he doesn't insult Arsenal in interviews (like Nasri/Adebayor) or celebrate if he scores.

I've never been one to advocate not celebrating against a former club, cause while it can be seen as disrespectful to the older club, it's kinda disrespectful to the new one. I personally don't think celebrating a goal is all that disrespectful to the former club, you scored a goal and you're happy about it, so celebrate. Maybe be a bit more tame about it but yeah, I guess it depends on the relationship with the former club. Even then, I don't fancy it. That said I'm not against it at all. I don't see him talking smack about Arsenal, but then this is Cesc, he's a bit of a shitbag at the best of times.

It depends on how the opponents treat you once you've signed for a rival.

Kolo Toure wouldn't ever celebrate in the arsenal fans faces, because our fans have never said anything bad towards him... so he has respect for us, because we've given him the respect.

Van Persie's first goal against us was met with "calm" and just a head down, walk back to their half.

Then after 12 months of pure abuse, and attacking his family/son/wife... He went buckwild after he scored his 2nd against us lol... It all depends.

If we cheers cesc, then he never celebrates against us, ever.

If we boo him, throw things at him, diss his sister and his wife in public, then he kisses the chelsea badge and sticks two fingers up at us ;)

That's life LOL you give... you take.

If we can somehow get £10m, then brilliant business.

If it's for 8m or less, I'd rather just keep him... not too fussed about TV.

Hopefully Per Mert can finally get the captaincy, whether TV stays or goes.
