He is benchwarmer numero uno. Why wouldn't he move to United?
There is no problem with that, just wanted to say that Arsenal's main problem during the past years was their weak mentality and a stubborn philosophy (young players policy) - always fourth, leaders & captains leaving the team for greener pastures. It just HAS to affect the players' mentalities - no surprise they couldn't have won a single trophy until this year.

Van P was the last guy that will get sold for financial reasons (Unless obviouslly a massive bid comes in) That's where the line in the sand was drawn.

People will always come and go, but the guys that will/have left, Sagna/Vermaelen, it's due to contract reasons.... Nobody will be sold because we need money, we make enough.

Everybody leaving Arsenal, what a weak mentality

So we can't even get rid of deadwood without being made fun of? Vermaelen has barely played in 2 years. Mertesacker + Koscielny were the first choice pairing and were almost never injured.

Better to give Vermaelen the chance of finding his old form at another club, and promoting a 3rd choice CB from within. Hopefully Ignasi Miquel can get some minutes now

V.Persie wasn't sold for financial reasons.

So why was he sold? Lad had 12 months to run, if your club had Suarez on a 12 month contract, and he decided against signing an extension, would you really make him run his contract down?

NAH, Sell him. Our hands were tied at that specific moment.

He was sold because he wanted to leave which is completely different. If he didn't want to leave he'd have signed a contract extension.

He wanted to leave and he had one year left on his contract. So it was either he joins manu for £27m now or joins manu for free one year later, with the possibility that he plays half-assed during his last year, because he wanted to leave. In the end the club made the right decision and RVP is a cnut.

24 million pounds now, or 1 season of an unhappy injury-prone RVP who will leave for free anyway?

Either way, AnfieldEd meant that RVP wasn't sold because we're in debt and need the money, or to raise money for other transfers. RVP wanted out, and we were given the choice of 24 million or nothing.

They can't kick him out. He's under contract. That's the point I was getting at. Leaving or staying was his decision. Leaving him on the bench would have made Barcelona look bad. Cesc had the opportunity to play hard ball. But he chose to leave, he signed a contract with Chelsea. In the end it's all his fault and his decision.

In the end, it was Cesc who wanted out. He gave an interview saying so. Barça's president tried to stop him from leaving, but he wanted out and asked them to help him leave.
