He's a decent player and will provide Arsenal with a lot of positives but possibly not the thing they need the most, regular goals. He has plenty of strengths but he's not a natural consistent goal scorer. If I was an Arsenal fan I'd be slightly concerned about relying on Welbeck, Walcott, Sanogo & Alexis for goals until at least January. Ramsey must be their biggest goal threat.

great deal and i dont usually praise english players. But wenger wasnt going to splash money on CFs like falcao and so, so choosing welbeck and turning him into Cf is a good choice. He doesnt score huge amounts of goals with United because he is played a lot on wing positions or behind the CF, but when he plays forward he can be lethal. He has confidence and I think he would adapt well to his position. Important thing is that wenger doesnt force him to play back and waste him. He has the sharpness, pace and potential to be lethal in front of goal. Its also a fair fee considering hes english and they usually get sold for higher. They only had to do three more things this market: get rid of podolsky, get a backup CB, and a starting DM. But I doubt wenger will ever buy that long-awaited DM not in a million years.

Arsenal would need to end out of top 4 before Wenger truly realise what his team needs in terms of signings and tactical changes to fit in the players they have as best as possibe.

Should have got top class DM and a CB as well IMO.

He should also work on a system that gets the best out of Ozil and Alexis. Especially Ozil who seem to drift out to the wings way too often from what I have seen. If you have a player like him then you need to get the best out of him as well.

Ok result for us but we could easily have won that game.
But it kind of sucks. Every big game we have to use every effort to try and score whilst the opponent goes the other end and scores off a simple counter attack or a set piece. It's frustrating.

Great news for Gunners. They can play a balanced formation now without shoehorning Hypeshere into the side and placing Mesut on the wing.

But then again it's Wenger. Alexis upfront with Welbeck behind in the next game is my guess.

I'd normally agree with you, but Wilshere was one of our best players against City...
