They do need a creative midfielder. If he’s not going to play Ozil, he should play Ramsey while he is there. But playing with Xhaka/Guendouzi/Torreira isn’t going to break most team’s defenses.

Sure. So their midfield doesn't need improving really. He just needs to not put 3 Vidals out there. Ramsey and Ozil are sufficient. It's almost always their defense really. 8 years of Koscielny. If your captain is that quality, what hope do you have? Captains need to provide a basic level to follow and lead by example.
