Though they struggle, i guess you can always count on them in the FA cup, its like their specialty.

Arteta wants Partey and Aouar. They are actually building a good team if they can get at least one of them.

Leno
Soares? - Gabriel - Saliba - Tierney
Ceballos - Partey - Aouar
Pepe - Auba - Saka

Don't know if Saliba will be a starter from the start but I've heard good things about him and he should probably start to play alongside Gabriel sooner or later. Also not sure about their RB position. Bellerin is apparently on his way to PSG while Wolves want AMN.

They'll have no bench anyway.

La Liga will suffer like mad when Messi goes, but it'll leave door open to more hungry players from imbalanced leagues to fill the gap if marketed properly. We'll see what things are like when Mbappe gets here.

imagine if Messi leaving triggers a massive exodus of stars from La Liga

Which stars man haha. There's barely any left. The few who remain are getting old too. :messi:

Spain aren't really producing many World Class level talents either. It's a dire situation for La Liga the next 3-5 years imo.

That's the reason La Liga made a statement in support of Barca. They have nothing to do with the player's lisences, it's the RFEF's job. Javier Tebas is shitting himself thinking about how he's going to negotiate and demand big sponsorship and tv money with no Messi and aging stars.

Dark times ahead. Winning La Liga with 75-80 points might be sufficient in the next 3-5 years. RM is in the best shape out of all teams if they get Mbappe.

It's really not that big an issue. Spain will keep being a market and a void that needs filling. The likes of KdB won't stay in England if they don't win CL either. Sterling openly said he likes RM. England isn't some overpowering magnet that people won't leave either. And France talent pool is as big as ever so new players will arrive.

Immediate 1-2 years after Messi leaving might be hard, especially if Hazard is permanently crocked.

Barca and Real Madrid are at the mercy of South America right now and in particular Brazil. Need them to churn out some top talents that will choose them, but even that being said you have examples of players like Gabriel Jesus and Yan Couto choosing Man City over Barca.

With everyone else it's going to be tough to compete in the transfer market with the 5th placed English team being able to offer a big transfer fee and salary to any top talent coming through.

Sure. And yet nobody will have the same pull as Barca and Madrid with the kids who watched Messi and Ronaldo growing up. The same way Ronaldo wanted to come to Madrid despite being a star in RM and us fielding 30-year old washed up Raul and Metzelder at the time.

Get Mbappe is the first step for RM.
Barca might have it a bit harder because you don't even have the Hazard type guy that players might want to play with and difficult to find any quality and established young talent who openly wants to join you.

KDB wont leave City for Barca/Madrid and always useful for likes of Sterling to link to the biggest clubs.

Spain for last however many years has been seen as a dream destination where players will hold on for move or force way there. That is going to happen less and less.

Would not be surprised if it is where likes of Mbappe or Neymar end up next at this rate.

Standard of La Liga, finances, exposure, quality of stadiums/fans all being left behind a bit at moment.

Why do repeatedly say Spain is a dream destination when it's only ever Madrid and Barca?

There's no reason for that to change.
