He has this strange back-spin on his longer passes... has anyone else noticed that?

Yea, he puts some spin in his passes. A bit unusual. It allows him to make long passes without too much height at times.

He did it a few times today.
Especially when he is passing to a left side.
Then he is passing it slightly with an outside of a foot and he is adding some of that back spin, which you mentioned.
I am not saying that this is good or bad, but it is weird/different, true.

I thought he cut it close/got a little lucky today--if the opponents were a tad quicker they would have been bad mistakes. I am not at all confident he is ready for athletic and physical opponents (City, Liverpool, Juve, Atletico).

Seems to have regressed in his composure and ball retention since his injury. Probably nervous about losing his spot as a starter.
