Arthur

Barcelona is not about winning, is about HOW we win. If we change our vision of the game, we're going to drop our identity to be like any generic team out there.

I hope we continue to pursue raw talent rather than buy solid already developed players that will just deliver the expected to win.

So yes, i want to see young Malcom here, dumb dembele trying... Or we will be like Madrid droping their champions players to get new toys or just because they dont look as shiny anymore.

I stopped reading after 'Barcelona is not about winning'.

Looking back now, Its obvious why we sucked in CL. The intensity is just on different level in these games and when you have midfield consisting of Busi, Raki, Gomes, Old Iniesta, no doubt you will get run over and dominated. We just couldn't handle the intensity of the big games. Now we should do much better in Big games next season, assuming Arthur, Frenkie, Roberto, Alena start etc. They can all run and add fresh legs and absord pressure (esp. Frenkie and Arthur). If we need more legs and tough play, then add Vidal to this. We should be fine. As long as we have Arthur and Frenkie I am confident we can take any team in the world, but if valverde plays Busi and Raki again vs top teams, we are finished.. 4-0 Away game AGAIN.

Not again man, I cant see another humilation anymore....:(

Definitely the how is very important. Obviously completely sacrificing winning for the sake of just playing beautiful is stupid. We're not the harlem globetrotters, we need to be practical too. But since it is possible to play joga bonito and win, then this is what this club should always aim for. This is what has made us stand out amongst the rest in the last 20 years. We give importance to the how.

Yup just like against Chelse, right ?

There are many ways to play the game and Win... There is no foolproof style. And between those many ways to Win the game, ofensive technical football is our identity, is who we are.

Brazil changed their style for a while and then Lost the Magic.. and now is fighting to get back to the Brazilian flair game It had. With some changes, but pursuing the old identity.

How is what really matters. Winning is not a constant and is beyond anyone’s control. If you have a unique philosophy of playing and you are loyal to that, then your true fans will support you no matter what. They will also be more forgiving, more understanding and winning will be sweet as honey. One needs to be proud and honorable, one needs to be a Stark

The words forgiving, loyal and understanding are not ones I would associate with a fan base that wanted their team to get humiliated in a cup final. Let's face it, 90% of Barca fans are only really fans of the team if it is winning AND playing beautifully. Personally, would accept a few bad years if it would get rid of these types of fans, if only they promised not to come back.

if Arthur was in premier league, say in Spurs, he would be viewed as a phenom with his ability to just Ole all those pressing that premier league teams like to do. Unfortunately he went to the worst possible coach/team for his skillset despite the 'xavi' narrative which is just wrong

This season it can be different. He needs to learn how to adapt his game a bit, because we have signed a player similar to him but better.

I wanted the team to lose the final as well .. but why did many Barca fans want that? I believe is due to the absence of philosophy that makes us Barca fans and thus wanted EV to get kicked out. Personally I was tremendously entertained watching Puig and FDJ play with the ball this preseason.. it isn’t about the goals, it is about the magic. Iniesta is my favorite player of all time for a reason, he is an artist

Fair enough but imho a fan should want his team to win no matter what. Winning should always be the first objective. With respect, I would say you were more a football consumer than a fan.

Wanting the team to lose a meaningless copa title, in order for Valverde to get sacked, is ok by me. It's just not short-sighted.
