I think Arthur has promise but he should be playing second fiddle to a top midfielder. It's stupid we start De Jong and him already.

It's not like we have great runners up front, though.

He played the same way for Gremio, Brasil, EV and Setien.

What is more likely?
1. All 4 teams had bad teammates who were preventing him from playing creative forward passes
2. Or: that's just how he plays and his natural instincts are always to look back first, make a turn and pass safely.
Only here and there he will play against his natural instincts (to play safe no matter what) and actually try a riskier pass.

People used to say: poor Messi needs to drop deep because Rakitic or a player xx can't create anything.

Today we had Busi-Frenkie-Arthur and we couldn't connect two passes after minute 50.
And Messi had to drop deep, the same as on famous nights in Paris, Turin, Rome or Anfield.
Not to mention that we couldn't use our famous press resistance in the 2nd half.

Interesting.

Arthur was among the best until our legs were gone, which is min 60.

We looked dead tired collectively after min 60. I really wonder what is going on with our training regimen (which predates Setien of course) as even the younger player looked out of gas. And we had one more day of rest than Real Madrid.

No team with poor stamina will sustain and play winning football. What the heck is going on with our stamina?

Too many years with crap management. This is not a new problem. It's a problem which has build up for years and reached it's bursting point this year.

Guy will never be anywhere near the level of Busi.

he will always fail when it matters. He is a side or back passer. when he does pass forward it isnt with intent of creating something.
He does the easy things well but a true star makes things happen when he passes forward.

I predict this is the begining of the end for Arthur. A disasterful CL performance will cement his place in the grave.

He will be dropped for Rakitic probably for the next game.

That is an ideological problem also.

A few days ago, I watched one documentary about Barca and people were proudly repeating how Barca has always been: technique and brains over physique.

How La Masia was always: technique over physique.

A guy at the end of the movie said: there are idiots who often say: Barca needs more physique... No! We should never go that way, we are Barca!

Lol.

A lot of fans and people around the club think that we won our titles due to technique.
No.
We won it due to Messi and Xavi-Iniesta.

But if you remove Messi and those 2, that type of football is not good enough anymore in 2020.

This is why we are buying Arthur, and RM is buying Casemiro and Valverde.
We are stuck in 1992 and 2010.

Denis Suarez, Coutinho, Arthur, Riki.
Is there any club in the world with as many physically weak players?
And then, when you pair them with drained oldies like Messi and Busi who can't run=you get our shitty team.

So:
1. Old amigos
2. Younger players who are often carbon copies of players from 1992, lol
3. And a few horrible misfits

Don't forget that we also almost bought a new Xavi Jean Michel Seri, lol.
A guy can't run for longer than 12 minutes.
But hey, he has nice passes...
And later we bought Arthur.

In Barca's world, football still revolves only around passing and technique.
In terms of physique, we are 10-20 years behind RM, Bayern or EPL teams.

Out next transfer targets are Lautaro and Neymar.
So, nothing will change in Barca's world anytime soon.

We will bully small la liga teams due to an individual talent.
And we will lose on every single away CL KO match, as always.

FOR A REASON.

Arthur's stamina is not a coincidence.
It is a part of our ideology.

It is a part of our ideology.

Our ideology should be a mix of physical fast players, with players more on the technical side. Nobody likes teams who are slow and weak, bullied in CL by everyone. It's been a misconception on your part that this is something some of us like.
