Pjanic = Xavi ? Now I've heard it all. Besides, the rest of Bar?a squad is nowhere near what we had between 2008 and 2015 in terms of quality

Learn to read sir. The Xavi role of chipping lob passes into the middle is being played today by Messi ... Pjanic will handle this and gives the team more options and gives Messi more options

Except Messi will continue drop to midfield and do all playmaker work. That is how Messi plays. And the whole team play through Messi.

How much is Arthur worth today? He isn?t young to price him based on potential, lets price him based on performance. Is he any better than Denis Suarez? .. I wouldn?t price Arthur above 45M. The main reason he is overrated is because some fans miss Xavi too much and have deceived themselves by saying this guy is the new Xavi, and that other younger fans do not know Xavi and thus have very very low standards. Also if it is true that Arthur parties a lot, then there is a cost that comes with him as well in negatively effecting the team?s morale and overall professionalism

Like Syrus already wrote in 1st century: "Something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it".

Since we are experiencing the Corona pandemic and we still don't know how much it will affect football clubs it is hard to decide what Arthur is really worth today. In the end, we'll never find out since Barca and Juve are doing shady business and swapping players for inflated prices.

True. Maybe we can compare him current skills wise to other players .. who is he similar to skills wise? Not Valverde, maybe Kroos

Kroos' game is all about his vertical progression, through balls, long balls in behind, diagonals to swift plays. He is one of the best final third passers in the world.

Arthur is NOTHING like that. He is a high volume passer who is passing it very safe. One of the worst passers to find solutions in the final third in La Liga. I have previously said he would have done well for himself if he reach the level of Banega, Parejo, Trigueros.

Kroos is levels above Arthur i'm afraid and dictates the rhythm of Madrid's game. I'd say he's more similar to Jorginho which probably goes a long way to why Sarri is interested in him.

Maybe Valverde's obsession with Parejo wasn't that silly after all

Parejo is perhaps the best through passer in La Liga beside Messi, but Valencia have way more open space to pass into.

IMO our midfield needs atleast one very good passer, someone who breaks lines for fun, through balls, long balls in behind, diagonals etc etc. Doesn't have to be the attacking midfielder, can come from deeper aswell.

The players out there right now who can do this on a regular basis probably are Kroos, Verratti, Pogba, Thiago and to some extend De Bruyne.
Quite funny it is the same names that were brought up in 2014-2016 when we were looking to replace Xavi.

This shows just how rare that kind of profile is and how long for these kind of players to emerge. Cant think of a single young midfielder who will turn into that type of CM.
