Arthur

He's still gonna have a good long carrer, will stay as 84-88 overall player for a decade, there is no point on celebrating his downfalls, nothing can justify us losing him for Pjanic...

Yeah, we really missed on a gem... traded a bum for a fraud. Nothing to see there

Disgrace of a player.

Disappointed me so much.

Still, could be worse. I could have wanted Rabiot over FDJ.

:dembele:

It was *Rabiot yes or no*, where 90% of our fans didn't want him and said that he sucks, and how he doesn't posses Barca DNA.
And majority used to say back then: no to Rabiot, Raki out, Paulinho out.
And let's keep Barca DNA young gems in Arthur, Alena, Puig, baby Busquets Oriol plus older legend Busi.
In that sense, I have said that football has changed and we will always need 2 players like Raki, Keita, Paulinho in the team.
We will never play with 3 light midfielders ever again.
And so, since we'll need 2 of those players, Rabiot seemed like a good option.
Because he was young, experienced, free and a different type to vanilla Barca DNA clones.

Then Barca DNA purists replied: we don't need new Rakitics, and even if we do, we will have Fenkie who is a technical workhorse.
But then, I replied: even with Frenkie, we will need 1 more squad player of that mold.

And fast forward to today: we said no to Rabiot, but signed Vidal of that mold.
So, we had Raki+Vidal+Frenkie who were not a pure Barca DNA light midfielders.
Then we sold Raki and Vidal and bought a similar granny Pjanic, who failed, but now we found Ilaix who is again of that mold, so again in the future we will have at least 2 stronger midfielders in Frenkie and Ilaix, and since athleticism paired with technique is the future of football, I won't be surprised if we buy even the 3rd midfielder of that type.

So, the debate started with: is Rabiot good, yes or no.
Then it turned into: Barca DNA light midfielders vs workhorses/b2b midfielders.
And then Frenkie got involved into that story as in: we can buy only one mid, since we already have Arthur, Alena, Puig, Oriol and Busi. So it is either Frenkie or Rabiot.

And then Frenkie turned into an asshole mode, asking for an auction, milking money for his wages and an agent and there were rumors how he signed for Psg, and then I said: fuck that mercenary, I'll rather have Rabiot for free.

And then, due to one of our users (not you) later this story turned into Bbz wanted Rabiot over Fdj all the time.
No.
I just wanted Rabiot for free.
And Frenkie somehow entered into that debate because Barca DNA purists were just throwing 400 random reasons how to discredit Rabiot.
(yet, on the other hand they had high hopes for fucking Arthur, Alena, Puig and Oriol. Kill me please.)

But even if I wanted Rabiot over Frenkie, that will never be a bigger sin than actually having faith in Lord Arthur for 2 years.
Rabiot might be a shit footballer.
But he is at least a football player.
Who can regularly play for Psg, Juve and who will in the future play for Milan, Tottenham, Arsenal or Everton for years.
On the other hand, Arthur will soon move to Genoa, Torino, Chinese league or back to Brasil.

So, Rabiot is a so-so footballer.
But Arthur is not a footballer at all.

Btw, a similar story, a former new Messi Halilovic currently plays in Birmingham in a 2nd division in England.
After Barca, he played for Gijon, Hsv, Las Palmas, Milan, Standard Liege, Heerenveen and Birmingham.

Not a single club wanted to kip him for longer than one season.
But when he came here, it was the biggest sin to write that a guy will fail due to a weak physique, low IQ and a bad attitude.

He had a nice technique and Barca DNA so (btw AS ALWAYS) given 1000 of coins based on nothing, like always.

I don't want to spoil the party, but Riki Puig will follow Halilovic's footsteps with insanely horrible career.

But we'll get back to it in a few years, no hurry.

Sorry for the rant, you asked for it.

Excellent read. But Puig isn't that bad

Not sure how you can say Arthur is a nothing footballer while Rabiot is a so-so footballer or useful still.

The truth is that both absolutely suck and have no business playing for a top team right now. Both will be playing for West Ham in 2-3 years.

If we signed Rabiot instead of Arthur we'd still have the problem of having an absolute liability in our team with a horrible attitude too. BBZ you were wrong. It happens to everyone.

Yeah, that is his usual bias seeping through. Arthur has been about just as mediocre as Rabiot at Juve this season.

They are both shit in own ways.

They can be 5th or 6th midfielder.

Arthur could be much better player then Rabiot.

I was so wrong about him. Looked so good on the ball and seemed likeable in interviews. There were some questions about his fitness but I attributed it to ageing players around him not pulling their weight.

Imagine putting that much effort into writing essays and still being so wrong. Man I actually cringe reading them
