We lost Thiago for peanuts because we didn't play him for TWO FUCKING USELESS MATCHES. This says it all about how incompetent Rosell and Barto are. These two should perpetually stay in jail.

Exactly my point, even if the board did want to sell him we should've played him those two matches and made Bayern cough up 90 mio

For the geniuses that say we 'already stopped' using La Masia DNA since 2012, what huge talent did we miss out on? Tello.. Montoya?

Good point, if only Barca DNA was about La Masia players....it's a broader term for how Barca play football, or should play football along with its Catalan identity and what the club stands for. To be fair a lot of the footballing aspect comes from Rinus Michels.

So important and many aren't aware

To add to this, Thiago time at Bayern has been marked by numerous injuries. When he plays he is brilliant, but for a good few years it was stop-start with long periods out. Always been a massive Thiago fanboy but the injuries have prevented him from fulfilling his potential, we would not have been able to rely on him as the main man in our midfield over a consistent period of time. Bayern have signed countless midfielders over the past 7/8 years which have somewhat negated that situation, but the point remains.

He had to leave the club for himself, which is fine, but based on how it has turned out over the past 6/7 years I dont think we should be too disappointed that we sold him.

The first two years he was injured a lot - and no, he has not been injury free since but apart from the 17/18 season where he missed for a longer period it was never long. He missed 6 matches in 15/16, 5 matches in 16/17, 20 matches in 17/18 (but then we had James Rodriguez playing in his position and playing that very good), 6 matches in 18/19 and 9 matches in this season.

He is no M?ller/Lewy/Kimmich when it is about injuries - but after that knee injuries in his first two years like the most other professionals.

Arturo Vidal and Inter Milan have reached an agreement for the arrival of the Chilean. Bar?a will have to release the player for the deal to go through. If they do, Vidal will sign for two seasons. It's a matter of days. [gds via

Looks like he will be an Inter player next season.

Looks like theres a lot happening behind the scenes. Just last week it looked like we might start the season with the same squad. By the end of this week Raki, Vidal and Suarez could be gone.

So they won't pay anything for him?

Seems to be a mutual termination of contract.

I'm totally ok with him leaving, but for free? When you think this board can't be any more stupid they out do themselves...

With how incompetent this board is, just getting rid of these players even for free is a big W.

That's the problem with those high wages we have given players the last couple of years.

Rakitic, Vidal all earn so much here, they don't want to leave or we need to start giving them some ceverance pay.
Glad if we can offload those wages, just to clear our house.

Suarez - 25M
Rakitic - 14M
Vidal - 9M
Umtiti - 12M

If we would loose Messi, we just created room by 100M in a couple of weeks.
We only would have Pjanic, Pique, Busquets and Alba as 30+ players on 10-15M wages a year.

Let's hope our board is not that stupid, to sign anyone anymore on 10M+ wages, when they are 29 years old.

Those Wijnaldum rumours though.

In a vacuum he is a good signing , but not with the situation here at Barca. We might end up offloading 2 old players , with 2 better old players in midfield.

Not very happy about those rumours, alltough he doesn't seem to be washed up, he is such kind of players that thrives on the players around him.
He is an ideal water carrier and can score some 10-ish goals a season, but the guy is 29....rather we take more gamble in promoting young guns.

Just drop Ilaix into the squad some times next season and get him ready as of 21/22 as a full squad player.
It seems everyone believes in him, then start to give him some time instead of throwing 25m + 8m on salaries.
