Arturo Vidal

Very surprised at the harsh reaction here.

They sold Paulinho for 50 M, and now they're buying Vidal (a much better player) for 30 M. 20 M would have been better, but IMO that's a good solution.

He won't be a starter in the biggest matches, but he will be a good player to sub in and start the occasional La Liga/Copa match.

Who would have thought the much talked about new midfielder we will be signing is Arturo Vidal a couple of months ago?

This one is on Valverde.

Coutinho-Vidal-Busi-Malcom
---------Suarez-Messi

and yes you are reading that right, Coutinho on the right again

Valverde didn't rest until he got his 30 years old+ player it seems. It had to happen. Segura probably went along right away with this to prove Thiago that we'd rather take his older, alcoholic and not-too-bright teammate than take him back to Barcelona.

But... for a good fee... and not too many years on his contract... not the worst deal ever for sure. Paulinho bracket.

A world class workhorse that combines stamina, physicality, defending and skill. A better version of paulinho.

Injury prone and past his prime but exactly the type of workhorse you want in your squad

Nice. Having a combative midfielder in our arsenal won't hurt us. I am worried that there will not be enough playing time for all the midfielders we have though. If we buy Wague, we will have too many central midfielders. Guess this confirms that EV will deploy his 4-4-2 with 4 cms as often as he did in the previous season.

This is the type of thug you need in champions league. Roma away wouldn’t have happened on his watch.

And paying 30m for a bench player who will hardly be used is a good situation?

We have too many wingers as well. Let's hope there will be serious rotations and we keep being fresh and intense for the full lenght of the season, instead of dropping off a cliff come march fitness wise.

Well Valverde got his players.

FGS please don't play that shitty 4-4-2 again.

Don't fool yourselves, Vidal's going to start every match he's ready to.

I'm not against a workhorse signing, but this is depressing.
