BTW, Atleti are now having a presentation of all their new signings at Metropolitano. A bit strange, should have at least play a friendly to have more than 20k people attending.

Didn't know their women team made so many new signings.

RB Leipzig have included an easy mandatory buy clause for Arthur Vermeeren.
Vermeeren is fully expected to leave Atlético on a permanent deal in June.
If buy clause is triggered, Atléti will get their FULL investment (€25m) made in January back.

As revealed by the Expansión newspaper, Atlético de Madrid and its main sponsor have signed an agreement for the red and white field to be renamed Riyadh Air Metropolitano at least until 2033.

Simeone strikes again, the best manager in the history of la liga. A drunk hobo can win la liga with Barsa and Real Madrid, but to do what Simeone has done with Atletico is truly astonishing and unprecedented.

The importance of using the correct tense in a sentence:
What Simeone DID (some 10 years ago) with ATletico WAS truly unprecedented indeed.

He is past it, since 2018 or so to say the least, and a Vodoo/luck away win against Barca won't change that

Result of a very easy schedule in UCL and a relatively easy one in Liga too. Only two serious games they had in this run they got dominated but managed to escape with a last minute winner.

After all Simeone spent a lot of money this window, so it was expected for him to be competitive again. Alvarez, Sorloth, Gallagher, RLN... It's definitely no joke.

He is doing a great job this season indeed. I respect him as a manager for all his passion and I don't think Atletico would be better off without Simeone. Just that it could be early to say he is back to his best days.

Win against Barça could lift them up too much as well. We ourselves have experienced this with Clasico win. Especially tricky considering there's a long break in between. We will have to wait and see if they can keep it up. Not impossible for sure but I have slight doubts about that, although definitely they will remain competitive for the title probably rest of the season.
