If only the referee didn't give a million minutes of extra time for no reason, they would have won the CL too. They deserved it 99.9% of the final.

Carlo is one lucky bastard. He very likely was seconds away from being jobless. Now he gets to run the circus one more year.

Agree on the things that have been said about their passion, heart and underdog status, a lot of respect is deserved indeed.

That said, Atletico really plays ugly and unattractive football. If most teams play like they do, I'd probably lose interest in football.

I disagree. Their football is attractive in its own way.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, I guess. ;)

Well, I would be happy with just a camera following Simeone for 90 minutes, so yeah

Would love to have him at PSG isntead of that turd that Blanc is (as he proved again tonight, check psg thread  )

True. The first leg of Chelsea vs A Madrid was probably one of the most boring matches ever. Those two are more than enough, if other teams play like that, imo football would be pretty boring.

Yeah, they don't just park a bus. They actually build some attacks and counter attacks as seen again tonight.

Chelsea's tactic is not the same this year tho.

We won't know until we see them against big teams. And knowing Mou, I have a feeling it'll be the same.

I know that we're al united in our hate for RM but there is no way their football is appealing at all. They score early and then spend the rest of the time playing anti-football.

And Simeone is a dirtbag that hides behind the "we're a poor team" act. I don't get how people admire him.

This just makes me more excited to see Barca and Lucho on Sunday. We'll finally see some exciting football.

YESSSSSSS!!!!!!! Atletico you beautiful bastards you. They proved that they are here to stay even after being picked apart by Chelsea as well as enabling a meltdown for RM and Ancelotti. People insulting Atleti and Koke don't really know football outside Barcelona, their football is of a total tactical and mental unity. Defensive it may be but they are all diligent and passionate soldiers on a single mission. Aesthetic? Probably not, but I can say that the only time I felt the kind of energy and spirit for Barca last season was in that 4-3 Clasico while other teams like Athletic and Atletico engaged my emotion much more with their collective effort and drive.

Simeone is probably the toughest guy in football. Tragically loses the CL final because of a stoppage time equalizer, loses star players to the very English club that he demolished, and has his team practically written off by a majority of football fans. That didn't stop him, not even nearly. The moment Atletico's training began, they were doing daily triple sessions and Cholo was demanding that they buy more players to continue being contenders. His job is one of the most difficult to do yet he raised them to his level and has been immortalized for this team.
