Been reported that they need to balance their books, but I didn't know that it was this bad that they will have to raise 50m in the next few days.... If its true ofc.

Gil Marin will not let that happen, I think the Javier Tebas need some cash and the ATM board will settle this as they always do.....Under the table;).

Yeah they have spent about 100m but they have also received around 75m from sales so net spend is around 25m only. This doesnt make sense

Siqueira has posted a picture with a contract offer from Real Madrid which he has rejected in order to join Atletico.

Hilarious.

Their system is infinitely better with ball carriers and playmakers like Griezmann/Arda. Simeone may think that the systems he tried at the beginning of the season were 'pragmatic' against the elite teams (i.e the 4 DM system in the Supcerup and today's lineup with Raul Garcia and the two #9's up top) to take advantage of defensive ability or set pieces, but their entire game is superior when the team is fluid.

The best game plan involves different variations of:

----------Mandzukic
-------------------------Griezmann
-Koke------------------------------Arda

Cerci/RG8 operating as subs or rotation for pace and heading ability respectively. Jimenez looks like he needs a longer acclimatization time. Koke also performed very well in the center when Gabi went off so that adds another option. Putting in Arda/Griezmann helped them have more control and stability even in defense as they weren't thumping long-balls around the entire pitch and leaving so much space in between the lines. Their attacking style also became so much more aesthetic with linkup and quick counter sequences. Hope Simeone sees this as they can gel into one of the most on form teams in Europe and stay above this current Real Madrid circus for a while.

Considering depth their squad got better. They played their usual game for most of the match and then were able to bring on Griezmann and Arda who can decide matches on their own.
Atlético is at least as dangerous as last year.

They are on paper, but I don't see them replicating last year's feat of winning the league AND almost winning the CL.

If they defend their league title, this is more than exceptional. It is well within their grasp too but I think they need to add a player or two in January.

Atleti need to get their shit together. They had an abysmal first half defensively against RM and if Real had put their chances away they might have lost. The are known for compact defense but they left Ronaldo and co all the space in the world to play in. Pretty poor defending by their standards I have to say, Luis' loss looks to be hurting them more than we thought

¡Gr?*cies Xavi!
Yeah, seems like it. Even though Siqueira is a good player, he doesn't really suit their style of play. His main attributes lies in the offence rather than the defence. If Ansaldi is any better than him at defending, it's just a matter of time before he becomes first choice.
