Barca elections 2015

Despite initially being a part of Laporta's team, Rosell (and by extension Bartomeu) is somewhat viewed as the return to Nunez' values (quite ironic, as they also face trial). The older socis, who have witnessed the good years of Nunez' presidency make up the majority of the season ticket holders and are usually the ones showing up at the general assemblies.

On the other hand, Laporta, Benedito, Majo etc. were all part of Elefant Blau, the anti-Nunez movement. If it wasn't for Gaspart's years of sucking on the dick of mediocrity, Laporta would've never been able to seize the throne and Barca still would've had a leader in the mould of Nunez
I don't know if this is true or not but it will be actually strange view from them ,Bartomeu was in Laporta's Board initially IIRC and Nunez era biggest figure is Cruyff and he is supporting Laporta alongside the likes of Pep .I don't even know if anyone else from Nunez time is supporting Bartomeu

It's in castellano. But this video says that sevilla got their 2700 tickets for the europe supercup, and will sell them all for 14 euros each. Barça won't. 1808 are available to socis. The rest, 892 tickets, are being sold thru viagogo, which belongs to Rosell. Some tickets cost up to 2000 euros there. If anyone really believes Rosell has nothing to do with Bartomeu anymore...

The video also question the resell of socis tickets, that is forbidden in Barça's statutes, but that are also sold by viagogo regularly.

It's rather about the status quo built up over decades.

Barca has had a history of its presidents being savy businessmen, from textile industry to construction. The majority of the active members has grown up with Nunez being at the helm of the club. Laporta, a lawyer with political ambitions, was actually more of an exception than we outside of Barcelona are aware of.

Nunez and Cruyff relationship is complicated as well. During his rise to the power, Nunez bought Cruyff's support (read here). By that time, Cruyff retired as a player (only to return to professional football one year later in the US). During his tenure as coach, the realtionship to the president wasn't easy either which ultimately lead to Cruyff's departure once the results disappeared.

Laporta, being one of the leading members of Elefant Blau, was as anti-Nunez as possible, which was actually one of the initial reasons of his feud with Boixos Nois. His exposure of the club to the global stage (like granting the membership to residents of other countries) also seemed a threat to the Catalan identity of the club.

Then 2010 came. Rosell, a businessman whose connection with Nunez go back to the mid-90s shirt sponsorship contract between Barcelona and Nike, rose to replace Laporta. Parts of his agenda really did look like returning to the previous status quo: Barcelonismo as the core, return of Boixos Nois, limiting the membership. Nunez openly supported Rosell's candidature (read here).

Bartomeu is the continuation of Rosell's regime and the decade long status quo. With Grupo Godo as his media support and the sporting success of last season, he is the best availiable candidate for the older socis.

Rosell is the owner of Viagogo ? Are you sure about that ?

No.

He has a 5% share in Viagogo.

They've apparently been selling tickets through Viagogo and earning some profits by themselves like that. And it's not the first time this has been in the news. Search and you'll find reports about it from 2010, 2012 and so on.

I'm for replacing Qatar if there's a clear plan/deal on another sposorship that is equally (or close) lucrative.

Bartomeu said he'll look into it next year once the current deal expires.

You are so naive, qatar will be on barca shirt for another 6 years if barto gets elected. There are rumors about new deal being agreed too, the elected board will have the final say. If he is planning to change it why would he agree to a new deal? The day Camp Nou gets renamed to Qatar Nou or whatever it will be that is the day i will feel some part of barca died. It will be a sad day. Laporta is doing a shit campaign, all the talk about la masia he wants to bring pogba. Did he even talk to lucho or does he plan to remove him after 1 season. I hate the idea of choosing the lesser evil, why can't we get a good president? Their flaws clearly visible. Corruption is one thing, that is unavoidable in the current world but having ties with a company which may very well build its fortune on slavery that is not something i can accept.

Your only shot at a good new candidate was possibly Jordi Farre, but he didn't get the signatures this time, nor is he that well-known. Hopefully he'll get himself known in the community and stands again in the next elections because I think he could be a good President based on some of his ideas.

This time, it's either Josep Maria Bartomeu or Joan Laporta.

As for Pogba then Bartomeu said a couple of weeks ago that he is a priority and that the coach likes him too, now he suddenly said that he won't be signed now as the coach wanted Arda. Quite hilarious as Pogba would have joined next summer regardless of whether he was signed now or later. What actually happened was that Bartomeu and his Braida card failed, they failed to close the Pogba signing.

I've no doubt that Lucho wanted Arda, but if Lucho wanted Pogba too a few weeks ago then I guess he is not against it now either, as Pogba wouldn't have come before Summer of 2016 anyway.

As for Bartomeu and Qatar then he made it clear that Qatar Airways will be our sponsor. He's not going to reconsider it. As Icarium said, he already agreed a deal and will put pen on paper the first day if he's elected.

Pogba was always an election chip and the annual star signing. It is really hard to believe lucho asked for pogba. Remind you tito didn't ask for neymar and lucho didn't ask for suarez, but in the later case lucho was enthused by the idea. The idea of signing suarez was by the board and zubi and they consulted lucho, he said bring him if you can. Signing pogba is unnecessary even for next season. Now the news about Grimaldo and Adama leaving really upsets me. Next season Rafinha and Samper will leave. No doubt pedro will want to leave to. Don't know if the dream of playing 11 masia players in the CL final will ever be achieved but we might soon see the opposite version.
