When fit you can NOT compare both players. Kompany is a Ferrari, Matheiu is more of a Lada.
Once in a while players get plagued by injuries , some are fortunate to come out of it some don't.
If Kompany does and is cheap or a free agent he will definitely help the 3 man defense system.
Lets not forget he started out as a DM so being comfortable on the ball isn't an issue.
I am tired of hearing the "one goal" against RM.

I don't know but Lemos seem a bit like a CB who is better with the ball than real defending. I understand we need a CB good with the ball but I still prefer the one with better defensive skills,that said I am yet to watch Davinson

I did a quick comparison of the two with Squawka, and although stats are highly subjective, Sanchez seems a little better with the ball as well as at defending. Of course Sanchez plays in the Eredivisie with a far more dominant team than Las Palmas in la liga so not a very fair comparison.

Yes, and don't forget we have another ex-Premier League star in his 30s in Thomas Vermaelen who is due to return from his loan at Roma. He'll be a real benefit in bedding Kompany in. He can show him the way to the hospital, where the recovery room is, how to get to the swimming pool etc

Mathieu is far from terrible. He's a good CB. He only had problems when played a LB for Barça. And Kompany is a broken ferrari, always in the shop. A functioning lada is still better.

And Barça is not a retirement home. One broken player in vermaelen was enough, and yet you want another. Ridiculous. And criticizes Mathieu. Can't take that seriously.

Players don't retire only for age, isn't it obvious? Kompany is a semi-retired player, as Vermaelen is too. They are injured more than they are fit. Kompany wouldn't be cheap or come with low wages either. It's a completely nonsensical idea to think of bringing a player like that.
