LMAO! The irony of it!
We have a Luis Suarez who is exactly the same age as Vincent Kompany, somehow so many of you believe he has many years to offer.
1-Luis Suarez signed when he was 27,has been on brilliant form since then and healthy,ICYMI we were actually searching for a young no9 last season to give Suarez rest and to be able to be his heir, while we made the wrong signing it isn't like we don't aknowledge Suarez age,I doubt anyone would have advocated signing him at the age of 30.
I can get the idea of going for a cheap option but there are things you have to consider
2-He is on high wage,he has no reason to come here for cheap, and if he earned same wage he isn't cheap.
3-Mathieu was healthy, athletic player willing to take huge pay cut to come here and do his role,Joined us even younger than Kompany would btw.
4-Health as mentioned is huge factor, there is no "if healthy" in Kompany situation. He isn't health any more. That is the same reason City was competing with themselves for someone in his prime like Gundogan, because no one else wanted to risk the package he come with and it showed this season.
We took our risk with Vermaelen,we only paid 10M for him and FIFA has even compensated us for 2M for his injury.so we paid only 8M for his service and he is still considered bad signing,no way board would take same risk again
