We tend not to pay younger players as highly as City can afford to unless they're already super stars.

Has Gabigol already signed for Inter/Juve? Aside of Luan, Gabigol and Jesus, which other Brazilian youngsters are we interested in?

You might be right, I just thought it was a 24M€ buyout, so if you paid that amount, everyone would get the share they were entitled to, and no-one could do anything about it, and only the player would decide if he wanted to go. Are brazilian buyouts more complicated than that? Of course there is wages, but I don't really buy that - how much more could he get at City.. All that aside, I know it pose a problem if he only could play from January, but if we wanted him long term we could have done better, IMO.

He chose city because they paid more. GJ had a 3rd party ownership, and Palmeiras and his agents had the majority of his rights, and convinced him to go to the highest bidder.

So now it's Gabigol, or we will miss all of our forward targets this summer. We should not lose him also!

Besiktas' President/CEO said they want Mario Gomez back, but it's difficult as he's negotiating with Dortmund and us.

If that is true then it is quite a pity for GJ.

That said, going to City is not a bad choice athletically.

I'm starting to warm up to the Mario Gomez option if he comes on a loan. He speaks Spanish so won't have any issues adapting and he brings something different to the table, and most importantly, he won't stand in the way for the likes of Munir, Mujica or any potential young CF signing.

It's a good strategic move as it'll allow the club to judge the options we have and explore other options in the market next year instead of spending money for the sake of it right now.

AND.....even if he isn't as good as he was, he is still a former Bundesliga topscorer and scored a good amount of goals in the CL for Bayern. Big club experience.

Yeah, Gomez on a loan wouldn't be all bad. A temporary fix.
