Barca Transfers and Rumors

Of course signing on-fees must be added. Thats one of the reasons why the price of players with a year left on their contract is lower. The selling club has less leverage and the player can demand a high signing on-fee as a result.

The price was 29m pounds (38m euros) + 8.5m signing on fee (12m euros).

No, it doesn't. When do you see it being added? You're just doing that to make the fee seem a lot higher. Like Pogba for 200m

if we sell Bravo I hope a part of the deal will be City waiving their 1st refusal and 25% of future sale of Denis Suarez.

No they're not. The transfer fee is paid for the registratiom rights of a player.

The signing-on-fee is paid to the PLAYER. Not to the SELLING CLUB.

Did you even read that article? They clearly say £29m move.

Of course the signing on fee is to the player! The player gets a very high signing-on-fee from RM as a result of the contract situation with Man U. The whole point is that it is part of the cost of buying the player. 50m euros for de Gea when he had a year left was not as low as you make it out to be.

Regarding Bravo. Getting rid of him for 20m means we are weakening our team and strengthening a rival for no gain at all. People shouldnt applaud this IMO.

Then what the hell are you arguing? I'm only saying that the sign-on-fee shouldn't count towards the transfer fee. A lot of players get a bonus for joining a team, even when they got more years left on their deal. And usually we don't even know how much they get.

Does it mean it's counted as a part of the transfer fee? Nope.

So no. Real Madrid did almost sign him for 38m. To say it was 50m is stupid. Otherwise you gotta start doing the same for all the transfers that happened and newsflash; We usually don't get to know the details of their contracts.

In this instance it was leaked.

You are comparing the fee Barca are willing to sell for compared to what Real were prepared to pay.

One fee includes player signing on fee other doesn't.

Man Utd were not willing to let him go for half price as they haggled hard and hoped if stayed for that year would sign a new contract.

The signing on-fees are usually low and are only really relevant when the contract of star players is expiring as the player has so much leverage. Thats why they are very important in those circumstances to tell the true cost of the transfer for the buying club. Ideally of course they should always be disclosed.

The value of the player to the selling club is what is relevant.

If City give Bravo a £5m signing bonus does this suddenly become a better deal?

If Barca were signing a 33 year old keeper for 20m you would do nothing moan about... No resale value, most expensive 33 year old ever etc.

You just moan about every transfer going unless you liked them years ago.

Yes. He is adding sign-on-fee.

Which doesn't make any sense as the transfer fee is paid to the selling club. How can you add that to the transfer fee? And if you're going to talk about the total cost of a transfer then you got to do the same for all transfers and that won't happen as in 95% of the cases, we don't know and likely never will know the inner details of their contracts. The various bonuses for the players, agents etc.

No, but it tells us how much he is valued in the market.

Its a crap deal for us. End of story. No reason to go for this.

It doesn't sense at all as he is moaning about the selling club value but comparing it not to what Man U were to get as selling club.
