This. It always makes me laugh when we exit Cl due to physically, stronger opponents who are well organized and just blow us off the park.

LOL..ya..isnt the player he describes more like what we have? Pauliho or gomes..lots of legs but no talent to be anything in midfield.. Atleast Paulinho has the box to box sense.. and OK they dont have pace..but legs they do have and not a lot of skill though!

What i feel we need is rotation players who provide comparable quality..look at Real in the semis for instance where they replaced Isco for Ascencio and he actually scored!! Our squad doesn't even luck out in the scoring dept in the CL..

There have been hits and misses. I'd say Coutinho and Neymar were also pretty damn good up and coming players. Also Alba. Ibra, legendary miss.

I'd like Erikson but not at 100 million.

For me ideal midfield would be Coutinho, Erikson and Fabinho or Kante. Too bad Liverpool got Naby Keita.

Coutinho and Neymar were not up and coming players. They were already playing at a near-peak level at Liverpool and Santos. They were already stars.

Paulinho and Gomes? How are they anything like what I described? They have neither the legs nor the pace. Paulinho is old and Gomes is just slow and leggy in general. Nor do they have the skill. Specially compared to Thomas Partey, who's been fantastic this season.

We don't need more garbage rotation players. We need WC players to come in place of Iniesta, Rakitic, Suarez, etc. and we need pace with decent quality. Else you're just going to keep being stuck with garbage like Denis Suarez and Gomes.
