Barca Transfers and Rumors

Well, you forgot to add Suarez. We were beaten by RM for Vinicius and Rodrygo. We wanted Griezmann, but he rejected us.

We just bought Arthur, and we're also interested in signing Rabiot, De Jong.

So, basically board doesn't trust LaMasia.

Don t you think there is a reason for that? Which player was the last one coming from La Masia and made a name for himself?
Perhaps Thiago? That was some time ago...

We have Denis, Bob, Munir, Rafinha, Alena, Samper in the first team. None of them is a clear cut starter except for Bob and that s because we don t have a proper high level RB.
I think the trust is there, but the quality isn t.

You can't just throw in a player and expect him to deliver. If that was the case Sergio Roberto would've left long ago.

The only reason he made it here because he was given a lot of chances by the coach, although it was more of being having no good RB options available.

But now, despite having Semedo. Many people rate Roberto higher. My point is 2 years ago Semedo would've walked over Roberto, but he has now improved to such extent that its arguable that who's better.

This couldn't have happened if he hadn't got a proper chance.

Proper chance = loan or buy back option. Go on loan, make a splash and you will get your chance. It s simple really.
All younger La Masia products in 1st team showed something, but none of them showed anything spectacular.

Bob would be a backup to all top tear right backs and he may become a backup to Semedo, if Semedo makes a progress.

With Malcolm added, the acquisitions for this window are done. If Cillessen leaves, he would need to be replaced with an acquisition, which should be a net profit. I don't know if Verm or Digne could leave without being replaced with acquisitions, going with a smaller squad.

Now the team can just focus on shedding deadweight. Good job dumping Douglas. Mina should yield real money. Gomes and Vidal must go, even if loaned with Barca paying some of their salaries. Denis, Paco, Munir, Rafinha, Alena, whether they stay as unhappy deep depth or they leave, no big deal.

I expect this year's squad, as is right now, to prove stronger than the squad available at the start of last season. Coutinho, Dembele, Malcolm, Arthur, Lenglet, this is much improved speed and quickness. The offense will definitely be more potent. Real offensive firepower will be available off the bench, which was entirely lacking the first half of last year outside of Paulinho.

Defensively, I would be surprised if the team proves quite as good as it was for all but the latter parts of last season.

Baring significant injuries to the few key players, this team will repeat winning Liga and Copa, and strike fear into all CL opponents. There could be records set for goals scored, this should be hugely entertaining.

Haven't seen Malcolm play live so don't know what to expect. Might be a another risky buy but 42 million is very little nowadays. Would still like to get willian just in case it doesn't work out as he is a proven top performer in big games

Nah, I think only a midfielder now at most

Willian isn't coming. It will be a CM or nothing.

Please De Jong. How do you guys rate a summer of Lenglet, Arthur, Malcom and De Jong?

Anyway if De Jong happens, it will be at the end of august.

So there are going to be a lot of sales in the next weeks which is fine.

De Jong seems to be a good final signing as if we get rid of Mina, Marlon and Verma, we would need a 4th CB and a midfield signing is the most important and De Jong can act as both (4th CBs dont usually play much but its a crucial position). Lets hope Ajax dont qualify for the CL. :D

I rather we get Thiago>De Jong. give him a few more seasons to develop at Ajax. Dembele, Lenglet, Malcom, Arthur etc are all young, we need some experience

True but he is very talented. He won't be at Ajax a few more seasons. I hope we at least secure him for next summer.

I doubt Thiago is available and we do have Messi, Raki, Busi, Pique, Suarez, Ter Stegen, Alba, Roberto etc as more experienced players anyway.

Yes, think we won't see any additions the next few weeks. Probably just sales. Looks like Rabiot is going to renew. So think the club will go all in for De Jong at the end of the summer. How do you rate him btw? As i remember you weren't that happy about players from Eredivisie?

The Dutch league is kind of rubbish, so its difficult to know exactly how he'll perform, but he clearly has intelligence, tactical knowledge, confidence and maturity much beyond normal at that age so he's worth it for a good price IMO.

agree with this, we should get a first option on him. i'd be fine with getting Thiago this summer who'd probably cost 60mil the same amount as De Jong (if Ajax aren't budging on their stance) and then sell Rakitic next summer and bring him in

with Busi aging by then aswell and De Jong having more first team experience he may be ready to take over the reins in 2-3 years
