Barca Transfers and Rumors

Not really, no. At least not at Barca, that has never been a case. Only la masia product that got back from loan and shined i can remember is Pique and not because he made a splash at MU, but because of Pep. We really lack coaches with vision.

Pique never went on loan from Barca.

Rafinha went on loan and was named break through player in league yet still not quite good enough.

Well, point remains. This loan bullshit is bullshit. I believe that potentially good youngsters from la masia should develop in Barca system, where they learn the style and get mentored by more experienced first team players. Loan crap can work for likes of Chelsky.

They should be loaned if too good for B team and not quite ready for first team.

Also loaning them helps keep the younger players who want to play first team football.

More likely for youngsters to stay.

If someone like Alena or Busquets are seen as too good for B team it would be far better to go out and play regular football than sitting on bench or stands week in week out.

Our premium benchmarks, Xavi and Iniesta, sat on bench week and week out for first 3-4 years at Barca.

Back in the day .... Liverpool used to purchase real good players and they more or less disappeared for 6 months or more to 'learn' the Liverpool 'way' !

Do we? Than you can tell me which LA Masia players made a name for themselves in top clubs ? Barca is one of the bigest producers of players competing in top leagues.
Bojan perhaps? He was "a generational talent", got plenty of chances and now plays for Stoke city. Bartra? He got his chances, wasn t good enough. And also which other top club has more home grown players in their first team?

The two exceptions that made it are Thiago and Icardi. Both wanted to leave.

It s easy to forget, that only the top tear players are good enough to play in Barca starting 11. The rest of them are rotational players and in the last 15 years or so a lot (most?) of the are from La Masia.
The Xavi-Iniesta-Messi-Busquets-Pique-Puyol-Pedro generation will not happen every few years.

Do we what? Yes, Bojan failed as well as others, but it's still better strategy to try and see how they develop at homes and see them fail there and then sell, than put them on an endless loan cycles that don't make them all that better and doesn't clarify if they would be good enough for Barca. Rafinha and Suarez were successful in their loans, but failed to become good enough still. So what's the point?

No they didnt.

You have clean made that up.
They were squad players. They weren't known as anything special outside local circles, but benefited from the fact that they could regularly fill in for more experienced players, when need or possibility be, which is my point. It's a big ''what if'' if they would become as good if the loaning madness had been so trendy at the time.

They both played a lot from the start and nothing like players who may be promoted and barely ever get a game as not ready.

For players like Xavi and Iniesta that were able to contribute a lot at first team level at an early age of course promote them but vast majority are not at that level or even close.

There is a big jump between b team and first team and players want to play and need to play to develop. Loaning them is the best solution in those scenarios.

Do you believe we sign another player this summer? Who?

if we get rid of Gomes, Thiago. if we get rid of Gomes AND Mina.. Pjanic, i don't believe Malcom was the 'big name' operation

hopefully Rabiot signs that new contract at PSG forcing our board to look elsewhere
