2. Coming off his 2nd or 3rd knee surgery at the age of 31, his career might be over

High salary demands

Inter are signing him on a loan with an option to buy, no obligation because of the risk. No other team with CL aspirations are willing to take that risk for a reason. Not even Man Utd who are desperate for a midfielder like him.

One year rental if we're not able to sign any other midfielder. I'm still not a fan of it, but it would be more acceptable than outright buying him.
