If this is true, then it's quite a cunning way to introduce a wildly unpopular (and likely corrupt) signing and make it seem like it isn't so bad by borrowing the interest and excitement fans will have for Coutinho by presenting them both at the same time. Sneaky.

We have to be the worst run upper tier club in the world. It's ridiculous, here we are yet again with a signing that makes absolutely zero sense from a sporting perspective. Every single piece of business we do should be aimed to strengthen the team in some way, yet this board again and again does business that end up weakening us, and make us look like clowns in the process.

If we add up the cost of all the middling players we've signed the last four years, players that have had no impact on our trophies, it would probably add up to well over 100m...

Keita was a top player with good technique playing for sevilla when he came to us. Paulinho isn't and plays in china and his price is ridiculous. 40 million is seri's buyout clause isn't it?
