If we sell Rakitic, Vidal and Alena (another loan is better I think) while buying Dest and Thiago/Ndombele, we'll have

CM: Thiago/Ndombele, Pjanic, De Jong, Puig, Roberto
DM: Busi (with De Jong, Pjanic and Roberto capable of playing there).

That midfield looks pretty strong to me. Roberto becomes a CM and Dest competes for the RB spot with Semedo. Shame this won't happen though. Both Raki and Vidal will probably stay. They are not even that bad, but we just need some new legs in that midfield. I am done with seeing a Raki-Busi-Vidal midfield.

So many of these players have to be replaced, its scary! Pique, Busi, Rakitic, Vidal, Suarez and even Messi all coming to the end at one time. As Sir Alex said before "you cant allow a team to grow old together no matter how good they once were" and thats exactly what we have done. We will pay the price for that over the next few years.

I think without doubt Messi can still be awesome for another few years but he needs legs around him in other positions to do the work for him. An example was Totti at Roma, he was still a great player at the end of his career but he needs fast hard working runners around him to flourish. Messi can do everything Totti did and more.
