A lot of hype surrounding him after he broke Saviola record as the youngest ever scorer for them.
I will take news linking us to highly rated prospects with a grain of salt. Our finance being a mess will make it difficult.
We will have an interest in many of those, but will be rare sight finishing a deal.

His highlights have too many youth games on cabbage patches. I'm going to try and see some first team summaries.

Doesn't seem like we have a spot for him though from a quick viewing, unless he can be an offensive midfield. And it seems that he naturally holds the ball too long for that / slow decision making.

Same position as Lamine and heavily reliant on the left foot so being on the left wing may not be an option, given the way modern midfielders play.

I'd say unless we're at the 10m mark then probably a miss. So most likely we would be priced out while our name is being used to raise his profile for buyers.

Yea the YT vids are not impressive. Not better than what we have. But Barcelona obsession with AMs continue

These videos paint a clearer picture why he would interest us. The club would absolutely be looking at him for that offensive interior role. Aka, the BurgerVille.

Can pretty much see all of his first team summaries (bar Boca ATM). I'm on my third one. Early conclusion is that yes, he is better than Echevierri. For the question that no one asked but everyone will want to know. More grit than Burgerville.

Buy.

From the videos he looks like the typical AM/Winger we are obsessed with, Noah Darvish type of player.
Doubt we will go for him if any of the wealthier clubs enter the race, unless he refuses to renew and ask for Barca specifically which is always a long shot.
Demichelis seems to rate him higher than Echeverri indeed, but could be about who else play in position or being physically ready.
Won't deny I prefer Echeverri, but that is because I always have a soft spot for players with close control of the ball.

I would have preferred Echeverri as well. His type of game and profile suits us better and we already have Yamal for the area that MAstantuono likes to play as well.

Mastantuono would probably do well in a Serie A team

I'm not too big on comparisons as we are generally all a bit too disposed to the physical likeness bias.

But, the lad reminds me a bit of Di Maria who turned into a pretty decent central player to say the least.

So that would be the potential we would be looking at here.

Compared to Echevierri who is an out and out slight and wide technical marvel.

We ain't getting this guy. Just like we didn't get Echeverri, Alvarez, Bergvall, or Alan Varela who Liverpool are rumoured to be prepared to pay his 70m buyout in the summer.

We will probably get El Commandante Morales on a free due to his ' experience ', just like with Romeu.

Let's face it, given that Barca has the biggest pull in club football, especially in South America, our sports department has done an absolutely atrocious job.

Imagine if our front six was

Echeverri, Alvarez, Lamine
Bergvall, Varela, Gavi/ Pedri / Frenkie.

We would have the best young team in the world who would be ready to dominate football and win the Champions League in 3 years.

I understand the sentiment but it the money isn't there, not much the club can really do.

The biggest miss was Alvarez, because we had the financial flexibility then, but choose to spend more on freaking Torres.

Echeverri looks special but la Liga isn't giving us any breathing room, I would have rather spend that roque money on him, but hindsight and all that.

That's fucking naive.

Young players don't just develop with years, they develop by learning drom other experienced players beside them.
This Arsene Wenger type of ambition is unrealistic at all tbh.
Gradual integration of youth is essential, our club is actually putting way more faith than we should in young players.
We have also signed the likes of Roque and Darvish too, whom both might turn very good.

-Sergi Roberto and Marcos will leave and the club will recover Julián Araujo and Àlex Valle, on loan until June in Las Palmas and Levante

-Hèctor Fort is already in the first team and FC Barcelona has Mario Hermoso within reach, who is free and does not renew for Atlético

---

Very big move that has gone under the radar today. MD mention we are close to Mario Hermoso who would be an excellent pickup on a free.

Do we need him? Well it would suggest that we would be making a big move or two from the defence. Kounde, Christensen or both.

Then Valle and Araujo both getting first team pre-season to be assessed.

Hermoso probably not going to be cheap, despite being free.

We'll have a bunch of players that need playing time, talented or not. Both Araujo and Valle would probably benefit a lot from another full season as starters, same with Fort, Cubarsi and Riad. But beggars can't be choosers.
