Barca Transfers and Rumors

Leao would cost upwards of 80 million. Nico probably 60.
Marmoush would be 40 plus he's at the right age and he seems to be a late developer which means he will get better.
It's hard to tell though sometimes. A guy can look great in other leagues and look like a scrub in la liga.

The problem with Leao is the combination of cost and hype.

He is good player, but overhyped and will be costly.

This is usually prove problematic, pressure is usually too much on players and many won't overcome it.

It is one of the reasons I suggested Sane if he accepts reasonable salary, he is inferior to the aforementioned players, but at this point you know what you get from him and he is free agent. He will come as cheap backup with more doubts than hype, like Olmo

Again, none of them can play as 9, just massive disrespect to the striker position.

Signing a RW is way more important because you're playing a 17yo who will get fouled very often and shouldn't play this much. FFF won't play many games.

This weird LW obsession would only make sense if Raphinha was the problem, which he isn't!

Your weird RW obsession is more questioning than if Leao could cover for Lewa as a 9. I'm sure he would be a lot better than Ferran, Pau and Fati as a 9, let alone as LW.

Buying RW makes no sense because Flick won't start to rotate Yamal regularly even if we would buy a new RW and we have Raphinha (also Toni and Diarra is coming) who can cover for him when he does. A 9 and a LW is a priority in attack just as most of us and the club agree.

Raphinha original position is RW.
So it doesn't matter which winger we bring. Because in either case he will cover for both flanks due to Raphinha versatility.

That Lille chap looks excellent everytime I have seen him.

He is at the age and career trajectory that he is ready to make the next jump.

It's more like Raphinha can't play either wing, he can play as a SS from the left or the right but he's not a winger, at least not a good one. If we get a manager who plays his wingers wide then Raphinha can't do anything at LW.

That description for a winger (wide winger is your word) doesn't exist for most quality managers anyway

Yes but Raphinha can play RW too lol. If you sign a LW you got a backup for Raphinha and you got a backup for Lamine at the same time (Raphinha himself). Meanwhile if you sign a RW you just got a backup for Lamine. Saying backup but that's just assuming Olmo is our starter, which is not the case because he's injured 70% of the time.

Leao and Omar could also be backups to Lewa, not in the most important games but just to give Lewa some rest from time to time.

Signing a LW would solve most of our problems with attacking squad depth.

There was this guy @ZenI was mentioning. I think. He used to play for his city. And is quite versatile, plays LW, ST, RW.

Dont remember his name. But we can go for him.

That's what I'm talking about. And considering Olmo's injuries we could play all 3 most of the time. Leao-Raphinha-Yamal behind Lewa.

When Olmo is healthy Leao/Omar rotate wit Rapha, Lewa and Yamal. Plenty of minutes for everybody.

Already signed by Chelsea's feeder club Strasbourg this summer if that's who you meant. No idea if he's anywhere good (or ready) enough though. He was ok in a game I've watched him but that doesn't mean much.

Also, we should stop looking at LWs who can play as strikers or vice-versa. Looking for versatility is partly a reason why we've signed someone like Ferran who can play multiple positions but is not good enough at any of them to be anything more than an expensive bench option even if he would be in some form (which he's far away from).

We need a winger (preferably in January but more likely next summer) and a longterm striker. Would say two strikers if we don't intend to give a chance to Roque but we def need a starter from 2026 when Lewy will leave.

Wanting an LW/striker hybrid does not mean we shouldn't go for a striker in 2026, we need both otherwise we'll have no depth again.

Jonathan David and Omar Marmoush are the two players we should look at. Samu from Porto is interesting but too expensive.
