Lewa is a better goalscorer though, a much more consistent one.Since we are talking strikers for the summer:
This guy is the profile we need.
We don't need just a finisher, or just a pacey forward to hit the spaces,
let alone someone who doesn't know how to touch the ball
We need a guy that can play with his back to defenders, hold up and link up well with wingers and AMs, and release well others in space.
We have already seen Flickball, and we have seen that Lewa is meh in that department.
With a forward that can hold and link up better away from goal, the central combination patterns Hansi is teaching will explode!
If Saudis have again FFP issues come summer (i am sure they won't get CL this season), we should pounce with a (decent not overpriced) offer
Then we should swoop, where's the harm in signing him for free. We can use him as a backup/rotation player first and evaluate his ability, if his transfer doesn't work out, he's young and we can get at least around 40m for him in a sale, though I think it could be more given the difficult striker market. He can also increase his value here.Reports this morning from Germany that Bayern are close to David.
But Athletic just dropped an interview with David, with him saying he wants to move to Barca and it is his dream move.
There are options out there if you have a competent SD to seek them.
Adeyemi is the firs that comes to mind: Can play LW, can play RW, can drift centrally, can score, can run, is intense in pressing.
Nothing marquee, but top quality to complement the ones we have and not be in danger of derailing a whole season if one of Raphina Lamine gets injured
See the antithesis?
IF you bring someone like Leao or Nico, he will DEMAND to start, and Fatporta would want that too for marketing reasons, etc.
Then Flick has to 1) displease either Raphina or Olmo who have been stellar so far, and don't deserve the bench
2) tweak his system that doesn't involve and out and out touchline LW anymore
PS: There are many other such options
He's good, but not consistent - he would be a luxury player who wouldn't fit what we need from a #9. Sure he could be alright on LW/RW because he's fast and he is tricky. In other words we would pay 70M+ for a RW/LW backup. I WISH he would be a Eto'o type of player, but he isn't. If we want a Swedish forward Gyö is the one. He has proven me wrong time after time, I'm coming around to him - but they will ask for CRAZY fee for him.Since we are talking strikers for the summer:

Mmm, the the scamletic, sports "journos" from anglo countries who think their players are above everyone else, despite never winning any big titles.Reports this morning from Germany that Bayern are close to David.

Although we can't keep Lewa for much longer due to age his replacement needs to be a guaranteed top striker.
I would love to bring Isak for rotation and to develop him into our starting striker, he's a great player, but Newcastle will ask at least 70m for his signing, so he will take a lot of our budget if we have money issues again.

Imo we should find a very good backup for LW/RW, max 30ish million. Preferably not above 25. Fast and with good dribbling skills and some technique. BUT I would maybe try for David instead, maybe, because he's free - if we by that time sign two new wingbacks (which we REALLY need anyway) just play a very offensive wingback on his side and play him as a winger that plays more as a second striker. Than we can also use David as backup for Lewa.
