Barca Transfers and Rumors

Antonito benched by Malaga. Not started any of the last five games (though one of those he was away on NT duty). Could try to get him for cheap in January if they don't want to play him anymore.

BTW, Levante-Malaga good game, 2-2 HT.

Barca should have kept Abde. He is improving a lot and considering the money problems he is more than a decent LW back up. His value is more than the little money he was sold for.

I complained about Xavi non-stop and rightfully so. Even during the campaign winning season, where we were extremely lucky and squeezed by with 1-0, 2-1 results regularly all while playing absolute garbage football. The 2nd season was the same, but without the good luck in key moments in the league.

Xavi was awful, I'd still proudly be complaining if he was still here. Flick isn't perfect, but at least he has a gameplan and plays progressive, attacking football....and he's done it with only one signing so far? The team is 100x less boring and frustrating to watch vs under Xavi, win or lose.

The absolute meltdowns during our losses or when we arent playing well are quite cringe though. The occasional bad game is expected and doesn't bother me considering every game under Xavi was generally painful to watch, even the wins 😂

Are you guys still counting on Lewa next season?
We have to get a new striker next season.

Or I am wondering if Rafinha can play in that position, with a LW like Nico or Leao?
I would quite like that. An LW and a backup striker like Jonathan David for free.

Linked to South African wonderkid.

In recent months, Barça has been moving into the African market with the aim of incorporating young stars for the reserve team and for them to end up exploding in European football. The experience with Mika Faye went very well and this year several players have already signed or tried out. The last one who could join the Blaugrana club in a more significant operation is the South African forward Relebohile Mofokeng, from Orlando Pirates. It is the great jewel of South African football and in which several Premier League teams have also been interested.

Obviously big question marks about level of competition he's playing against but has that Brazilian flair and showboating like Ney.

Would def start in BA. Sign him and Antonito and see how they develop.

Antonito should be loaned to a Segunda or possibly even La Liga team though if there won't be a spot for him in first team immediately. He's already above the Primera RFEF level.

Realistically Mofakeng would be the type of player that moves to Netherlands, Belgium or even Championship. That's the kind of level and career progression he looks at from a spot judgement of that highlight.

But also a player like that has to be realistic too that Barcelona B would not be a bad option. Even Vinicius and Rodrygo started in Real Madrid Castilla to adapt, and there is way more to learn tactically at a club like Barca than to just get the ball, dribble and inshallah.

I know you don't rate him as highly as me, but I'd put Dani Rodriguez around the same level of Cordero. They are both guys who should be hovering around first team trainings while getting minutes in the B like Casado last year. While if the opportunity opens, then get first team call ups.

And on that note, from the little I have seen of Abdul Aziz, he should have played much more. Every action has shown potential- of the few he has had. With Albert Sanchez there though, Dani Rodriguez returning and Ibrahim arriving, I doubt he will get the opportunity and get signed however.

Too many small-fry deals like this South African kid. Should focus our efforts on Mastantuono. No reason to hold back there, if you've got half an eye for talent.

Isn't Mastantuono more of a AM/RW which we don't really need that much?

Also, he's in totally different price range than this and other African kids we are signing these days.

Sport run the background story of the South African kid yesterday btw. It would be a B signing and Albert Sanchez basically received an agents tipoff about him, watched some YouTube videos, liked what he saw and then asked a mate who is coaching in South Africa about him.

So yeah, might be one of those like Abdul Aziz where we try to loan with a buy option.

Tbf, this isn't a bad story. Many deals happen through connections, and those guys who has been long enough in the game, especially at lower levels tend to have those.

Pedri deal was like that. Las Palmas felt they needed to cash on him and they had connections with Planas, who talked to Abidal and we mived for him. Ascensio deal that collapsed happened through Nadal the footballer, and when he went to RM Rafa Nadal was involved iirc.

True. When I had an agency in the backwaters of world football we would receive 100s of players daily either from their agents or directly to pitch to the clubs in the region. First thing was to check them out on youtube and vette.

With our (Barcelona's that is) expansion into Africa, we must be no doubt inundated with pitches from young talents from the continent. And to be fair this player does look worth a look at the B entry level. It's just a bit wild hearing this kind of stuff still happens at the elite level.
