Sure, but the coach rates Martin above all who are in the club other than Balde, so choosing not to sign a LB will be choosing Martin as our backup for another year.

It looks like Flick appreciates more Forts offensive game than Martin, because before the 2-2 goal Fort was coming in with Gavi, but when we scored 2-2 it was Gavi and Araujo who came in at 85min. Correct me if I saw wrong.

He did, but I am not sure it means much as Martin still started tbh. Overall he clearly favours one on the other.

For me it isn't a Fort vs Martin thing, we need upgrade in the position, period. Right now every indication points to Martin being Flick choice in this squad, and the only way to make sure this don't happen again will likely be in the market

Cancelo was traumatizing at the end, but he would be our first choice back up RB, LB & winger if he was still here.
Anyway, we won't get him so it is mute discussion.

Cancelo was awful vs. PSG, but someone like him would be useful as a squad player indeed.
But he has own issues as mc_lovin said.

Don't think we'll sign a LB as well unless it's for very cheap. Maybe Grimaldo want to return and spend his last few years at Barca since Alonso is about to leave, but would he really come here when he's a starter and could probably join another team as one? Especially when he'll be trying to be in contention for Spain's 2026 World Cup squad.

Cancelo is one of the poorest defenders of all time out of all rated fullbacks. No thanks. The guy should have poured dribblings and clutch goals like prime Marcelo offensively to accept his shite constant defending and brain farts.
