Renato Goncalves reports on Barcablaugranes: FC Barcelona Set to Make Offer to Borussia Dortmund for Marco Reus

FC Barcelona has six days left on the transfer window, and their eyes are set on the final target to improve the squad.

According to multiple reports from Spain, it is Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus. All the sources of all websites reporting on this story say that the 25-year-old is the main option. Basically, it is "Reus or bust" when it comes to Barça's last signing of the season.

Since Borussia wants to raise the player's buyout clause to €70 million next season, this is the biggest chance for teams to purchase him for the current ammount, of €35 million. Since Barcelona is the frontrunner to sign him and no other club has expressed as big of an interest as the Blaugrana, it is possible that Dortmund and Barça could agree on a deal by the end of the week.

Barça coach Luis Enrique has made clear that he's satisfied with the current roster, so Barça would buy Reus, loan him back to Borussia for one more season and then have him as part of the squad next summer. Again, this is all speculation at this point, but it's undeniable that the Catalans want the player, and Dortmund will not make it impossible for a deal to happen.

The alternatives remain Atlético Madrid's Koke and Fiorentina's Juan Cuadrado, but signing one of them is really unlikely right now. The fact is that Reus is the guy, and Barça will make every effort possible to turn him into a Blaugrana.

#ReusBlaugrana #FantasticFive

Extremely tall order, almost mission impossible, I'd say.

One can dream though.

Indeed. I'd like to add, that, initially, that's what we thought Operation Suarez was going to be like too. But we know how that ended up. :xavi:

But we are running against the clock, with less than a week left; and facing a club that absolutely would not want to deal (at least from what we have heard) vs. a club that wanted to capitalize on "damaged goods" after the biting incident. If they can pull this off which I don't think will ever happen, I am getting a Zubi tattoo.

If we offer a sizable amount (20-25M above his rumored buyout next summer), and let him remain at Dortmund until next summer, I think Watzke and co would bite. They really don't want to risk him going to Bayern.

I just hope those MD and Sport spies lurking on this forum will convey your idea to Zubi and the board.. :xavi:

If we sign Douglas and Reus then I don't care if Douglas is signed or not. So #ReusBlaugrana!! :zubi:
I just hope this guy is reliable. RAC1 saying if we sign Douglas then we won't sign more players, but I hope when we sign Reus, we won't buy Douglas.

Worth the gamble. 6M is nothing and he can turn out to be another Alves.

You know, I'm available for free and can turn out to be a better defender than Alves. I wouldn't even cost 10% of Alves' salary so the entire deal would be a steal for Barca :pep:

P.S. - I'm much taller and stronger than Alves/Montoya too if that counts :D

Manchester United said they will not sell even a virus to Real Madrid and sold Cristina in the same transfer window. We will not sign anyone if we have the mentality of giving up so soon.
