Lakers are the most attractive market in NBA. Luka's move is normal and weird at the same time, because this is still considered LeBron's team.

I agree Mavs made a very bad deal. Anthony Davis is known to be injury-prone and trading him for your franchise player is just crazy. Mark Cuban since 2023 is no longer majority shareholder, I wonder what motivated this deal.

Nobody asked him, it wasn't his decision. Why do you think LA is the worst for his career? We all know refs are mostly biased pro Lakers so that's ideal for him and even if he gets fat and bad the Lakers care more about selling kits and marketing than results as we see how they put up with Lebron's circus for years even if he doesn't really contribute on the court anymore.

I didn't say it was his decision, it was Dallas.
Lakers are circus with incompetent owners and front office, who only got bailed with Lebron wanting to enjoy South coast and having Covid in 2020 for their astrik title.
They have 400 years old Lebron and few role players, they aren't that well built to have a winning team around him.
Then you have media pressure and spotlight, which is insane and bad in LA.
Then you add LA lifestyle, which isn't goid for someone who is already bad in his lifestyle.
San Antonio, OKC, Houston, Miami, Denver, Bucks among others, would have been better fit for Luka tbh.
And I am not saying that as a critique for him, I actually want him to have success.

There is a talk that this is a J.Kidd move, that he is the one calling shots there.
This could make sense of the move, as coaches rarely care about long term, and Kidd coached AD in LALA

Could be, but it's not typical for coaches to call the shots. That's the role of the general manager.

Dallas Mavericks general manager, Nico Harrison:
I believe that defense wins championships, I believe that getting an All-Defensive center and an All-NBA player with a defensive mindset gives us a better chance. We’re built to win now and in the future.

LeBron only waives that no-trade clause for a team with a very good chance of winning a Championship.

Which such team would trade a lot of assets for him though.

I don't know how the money works, but Lebron for Butler work for both franchises and players.

They are trading contracts, salaries.

Pat Riley being one of the most pragmatic people in NBA is refreshing his squad every few years. Butler wants new max contract, currently at 50m, Riley said nope and things got unprofessional.

Pat Riley doesn't fuck around. The last thing he neeeds in Miami Heat is Lebron's bitch ass attitude. Events from 2014 are still there, when LeBron betrayed Riley's long-term plan on building a dynasty.

Why would Lebron accept that? He would be going to a worse team and I don't think he wants to move. He wants to live in LA after retirement so he'll stay there.

Yeah and Riley doesn't want a 40 year old.

Yeah, no chance in hell Riley would take LeBron back.

There are very limited teams that LeBron would accept going to. Oddly enough, I think he would accept going to Phoenix to play with Durant. But I don't know what Phoenix would send the other way.

Lakers need to get a center somehow.
