He had matches where he was worldclass on RW but he isnt a real RW and i think he doesnt like it either.

DM is more important but 50m for a Bernardo sounds like a christmas present.

To be honest 50m this Summer is a great price. Bernardo will be turning 30 this Summer and is a bit like Modric, that what he excels at hardly relies on pace. He can go, and probably for a number of seasons in Spanish football especially.

I'd take Bernardo for 50m this Summer and Son next Summer on a free.

And of course back them up with a superstar manager like Oscar Klopp or Jurgen Hernandez.
Who's this Summer guy?

Bernardo is a machine, hard to imagine him being 3 years younger than KDB and 4 years younger than Gundo, so he still probably has a few more years in him if can compare to them.

He has bit of a mileage in him though and with other positions also needing reinforcement I don't think it would be wise to sign him even if he'd be a wonderful addition to our midfield and a good option at RW.

As hard as it sounds, I would really think it over if it would not be better to change Silva for Pedri. The big if is, if Pedri can stay fit permanently. If not, it's better to bring in Bernardo to have 3-4 years surety on that position and during that time look at La-Masia for a new talent. Good midfield talents are not that rare in our academy thanks to our playstyle.

Sorry. I missed an A.

Barça could pay the €58 million that Bernardo Silva costs in three installments

TV3 reveals a clause in the Portuguese's contract that would give payment facilities to the Barça club. He was Xavi's favorite. Now, Deco and Flick decide.

---

Seems this would be our big signing with Xavi stayed. To be fair the transfer fee terms are favourable, but the wages would be huge with little/no sell on value.

But of course incredible player.

We will see if he fits Deco and Flick direction or they prefer to look elsewhere.

I'm guessing Mbappe-less PSG would love to sign him. Seems they already agreed a 100m-ish fee for Kvara and will bet on 5+ high quality signings across all lines.

The wages and resale value is why I was against signing him in the first place and why I won't wanna sign kimmich.

We gotta be a serious club again, don't spend money on 29+ year olds

Nah now is not the time to sign him. I mean he'd walk in and be the best player in the squad, but 50m is too much for no resale value especially when there are other positions that need strengthening like DM and LW. But for example if Son was 2 years younger and available for 50m it would be a great signing.

We need to prioritize and fill the glaring holes first before we upgrade on other positions.

If the manager gets the best out of him, a 30 year old player can give 3-5 high quality seasons.

Look at Gundagon he just played a great season turning 33 just after the season started. By comparison that would take Bernardo 3 seasons here.

Kross and Modric played to their mid 30s.

So food for thought. I think Bernardo gives you 4 seasons min as your most offensive mid of the guy In the whole in a 4231.

I'd personally take him as he gives guarantees. But only if I know we are back to contrallable finances when we return to CN.

Nah you don't see Madrid and city spending serious money in 30 year olds, much as it pains me to say it. They are the standard these days, if the player come in a free that's different.

But putting 60m + another 15-20 in salary for someone you can't potentially resell, is a no no.

We should be aiming for players that aren't WC yet but have potential, between 20-27

Players like zubi, Williams, thuram, olsie i'd fuck around and spend money on Olmo before I buy B.silva for the same money.

He & kimmich will be free in 12 months if memory serves me right.

Who's that Pokemon?

I partly agree. Bernardo in particular despite nonsense of 'Pep mileage' will continue to be world class for another 3-4 seasons. He'd be a great signing for PSG for example.

So Bernardo plays AM, but how do we create a threat down the left wing and how do we fix the vulnerability in front of our CBs?

Bernardo might be 30, bit his real age after Pep is 34.

He is playing for years 50-60games per season.

We need to dodge it.

If he was so for Barca, why did he renewed contract?

Exactly. Signing Bernardo is a bad idea. As soon as we sign him, he'll become injury-prone. I just can feel it.
