He called Diego Costa last March. I think he wasn't impressed, but after so many cf's failing, Scolari is considering him again. And Marquinhos won't go, he's too young. And at this point Scolari has the group almost finished, just a player or 2 to get a spot. The last cb will be Dede, Rever or Henrique.

this is the reality that people here cannot comprehend, in brasil you have many good players for one position, too many. so, when one player or two doesn't get called that is doing well in europe people get up in arms but they do not understand in brasil, you can go down to the local grocery store and find a player that could fit into many national teams (some hyperbole, but anyone that has been involved in football there and other places to compare can tell you the same)

This brings me to my next point regarding Barca interest in Balanta who is a decent player a bulldog strong and physical but there are easily better CBs in brasil such as Dede and Rever that amongst others.

Edit: I have to add some qualification to my statement, however. What is important to remember is that Balanta has qualities to be a good stopper, a replacement for Puyol, however, I believe the team is in dire need for a top sweeper as well, who I believe is more urgent than the stopper need. Balanta has qualities similar to Masche except he is quicker and stronger in the air if buying him and pairing him with a player who is a good sweeper, Rever comes to mind but he can also cut attacks, with a good player like busquets or Song in front they would be very formidable. All of a sudden Barca would be very strong in the air say playing Song and Busi with Balanta and a good sweeper behind against Bayern, Bayern would not be able to win much in set pieces. I am ranting now so I will stop here.

Five players already officially called up for the friendlies in Nov. 16th and 18th:

Daniel Alves - Barcelona
Hulk - Zenit
Lucas Leiva - Liverpool
Diego Costa - Atlético de Madrid
Marquinhos - Paris Saint Germain

Cbf said they were already called up so they can get the visa to enter USA.

This is absolutely ridiculous;

BREAKING: CBF (Brazilian Football Federation) says they'll try to remove Diego Costa Brazilian nationality after the player chose Spain!

Honduras' players were just hacking Brazilian players left and right. I'm glad they took the 5-0 beating.

Pretty decent game. Chile played a clean game for the most part n gave a commendable effort. Brazil slips by with a 2-1 win with robinho netting in the game winner. Shows u the difference between a soccer team in chile n those thugs on the honduras team.

Learned a few new things about this brazil team after this win.
Oscar- Dont think scholari is happy with oscar, ramires might take his spot or hernanes, lacks any finishing ability.
Neymar- He has looked a bit fatigued lately, might be time for some rest. Had a few good chances to score but hasnt had his best games for brazil lately.
Hulk- Must be on the starting XI, Dangerous player with a roberto carlos type shot.
Robinho- Is making a case to be brazils starting striker.
Jo - Sucks, awful. By far the worst player on the squad.

Oscar is a fantastic player, I have a hard time believing he can/could be replaced by anyone for Scolari - it'd be a major stepdown...Of course, the trick is getting the maximum out of both Neymar & Oscar, the two generational talents who can make Brasil a force to be reckoned with, rather than marginalizing the Chelsea player
