BREAKING: Barca have reached agreement with Nike

In any case, we are on an upward trajectory.

The easiest way to build income is with strategic sales.

This is only my theory, but Flickball is way less elitist than BarcaDNA, so we should be able to time sales and signings.

Take this summer for example, Casado and Bernal stepped in. FdJ could have been sold.

Or CB with Inigo being a key defender. Araujo could be sold.

Next we have to look at someone like Kounde if the Chelsea/PSG rumours are true and think, who could takeover that role.

No, this is simply wrong. That's not how sponsor deals are being done. They're purely negotiated on the popularity of the brand. Meaning fans, followers, media presense, merchandise and kits sells and more. It has absolutely nothing to do with the club's current financial situation. There are tons of examples of other clubs.
Especially with a decade or longer going contract. Transfer negotiations and sponsor deals are not the same.

Why do you think Nike improved their offer massively after Laporta started to flirt with Puma? Where does our financial situation plays a role if different outfitters compete against each other to get Barca, one of the most popular sport brands in the world?

Man United is another example that these contracts are negotiated purely on popularity and not on the club's bank account or how many throphies they've won recently. They keep getting record deals, because their brand is still exremly popular, despite the sporting mediocrity.

edit: And the biggest fact you see right now, where we're signing the world's best deal despite our financial situation.

Okay.

Issue is inflation, which suits Nike nicely. Also, considering we have the biggest young star in the world Nike got a good deal for the future.

I would also argue that our stadium costs way more than it should and compared to others.

Laporta hasn't made anything special.

Aso, all that money and it's not enough to register Olmo.

This was always going to be a deal for short term on the expense of long term. This is the only reason Nike sit on the table now rather than in 2 years. They had to be offered something in return.

There was a comment about how football inflation might stagnate. Of course 14 years ago transfer fees were very different, but there are doubts fees will be increasing from now with FFP getting stricter. Think fees will very rarely surpass 100m. Also the trend of players running out their contracts more often.

Good post.

Good job by Laporta with the deal btw. There's also some prestige attached to having Nike on board with us long term.

Makes sense the biggest clubs get to have Nike and Adidas as main sponsors. Biggest brands usually attract each other.

Having fruitful long term commitments is valuable for me. Barca was Nike for almost 30 years I think.

Hope we now will be in 1:1 in the winter already

Don't wanna see any more excuses that we need more to get there

IT means they have been hiding a lot
We aren't 1:1 because this deal was already taken into account in the budget, think it was just an extra 10m or something.

Not sure I like this as a Nike shareholder, but seems like a good deal for Barca.

Also shows how RL9 transfer and wages more than pay for themselves with his marketability.
